WOOO today's video is one that is extremely self indulgent ... so thank you for allowing me ... LOL
This is the Super Switch Tester that I bought specifically for ASMR, and then actually found that it came in handy and now I want like 10 more keyboards oh NOOOO
Also as stated in the video, I am NOTTTTTT a mechanical keyboard expert AT ALL, so if you ARE; my lack of knowledge will probably be quite cringy... I'm doing this for the ASMR!! I claim no knowledge! LOL
Sleep well to the click click clicks :)
Aaand here's a link to it if you want to follow along, I have been sponsored by Drop before but not this time, I ordered this myself!

If a switch has "milky housing", it means that the top of the switch is made from a different kind of plastic. This effects the rgb shinethrough (more even bot not as intense), and gives the switch a more deeper and fuller sound.
Omg mikey on prof

no i’m pretty sure it’s called a milky top because the top is made out of milk.

Btw, if you have some switches with spring ping or leaf ping, you can lube these with appropriate lube (e.g. krytox 205g0 for linears and tribosys 3204 for tactiles) and the sounds will be gone. So that's how you can eliminate spring ping in cherry switches if you really enjoy using them...
(And if you lube a switch, it will make it much smoother compared to the stock experience.)

The different weights are just the actuation force required to activate the switch. The browns you like so much have an actuation force of 45 grams with a peak force of 55 grams which is just referring to when you hit the tactile “bump” of the switch.
For Aliaz, those are the bottom out weights

the spring sounds you don't like are called spring ping. it's removed when the switches are lubed.
i gotta LUBE EACH ONE MYSELF?!?!!?
@@GibiASMR it takes a couple hours but lubing and filming switches in the best thing you can do to a board. i have a custom keyboard. its lubed and filmed gateron ink black v2s. i would highly recommend looking up typing for these they sound/feel absolutely amazing!
@@GibiASMR You can also buy them pre-lubed, but it's kinda common for them to come back over-lubed. Personally, I find lubing switches to be pretty relaxing and I make a night out of it.
@@GibiASMR I mean, you can buy switches that will be lubed by other people, but generally, yeah
@@GibiASMR I mean pre-lubed switches do exist but they aren't as good
The sounds they were making while being pressed all together was so satisfying 😌.

18:31 Milky housings of a switch means the top housing of a switch is made from a different blend of plastic. Rather than the polycarbonate/nylon blend you would get in an original housing, you get POM introduced in the mix, which softens the plastic and makes the housing translucent.
22:16 the weight refers to the weight that needs to be applied to actuate the actual key
This was something I didn’t know I would like and would be interested in. But I really liked the different sounds and especially hearing you talk about them is very relaxing.
I would love it if you made an other video about this 😊
yayyyy well maybe I'll actually get some keyboards or we can build one!!
@@GibiASMR omg I'd love a video building a keyboard
@@GibiASMR why don't you build one live on twitch?
I don't know why, but this is my jam. The quiet talking, the rambling, the clicking. This is a nerdgasm and a half.
Humans obsession with keyboards is adorable and makes me feel like I was born at the perfect time tbh
I turned this on to fall asleep and ended up staying awake the whole time laughing at Gibi's beautiful commentary. I think I may need to find a new asmrtist to fall asleep to...Gibi has too much personality to tune out
I, actually, just watch Gibi vídeos like entertainment videos, before I sleep just to be sleepy, but not to sleep. It's kinda strange, but yeah I love her videos

As a person who recently got into the custom keyboard community, this video makes me very happy.
It's weird how before I never thought about Gibi's posting schedule, like I was not waiting for a video on time or anything, but now that it's down to one per week I feel like there's something missing and I'm very aware of Saturdays. But don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE that she's taking time for herself, 3 videos per week must be stressful, I've just been humbled not to take things for granted.
same lmao
I feel the exact same. I’ve caught every video of hers at least on the same day since January 2017. She’s deserved a break for a while though so I’m glad she’s chillin and enjoying her time off. Can’t wait to see how creative she gets once she feels comfortable with her break being over.
Just finished up my first plateless build recently, and I'm in love with it. It's incredibly bouncy and fun to type on.
Some of my favorite linear switches are Tecsee Diamonds/Jadeites. They're incredibly smooth because of the UHMWPE Stem and Top Housing, but also deep sounding because of the PC Bottom Housing. An alternate to them would be Giant V5s, but they're more clacky sounding because of the Nylon Bottom Housing. They're both highly underrated switches imo, and if recommend anybody in the hobby to try them out.
If you want some good tactiles, Mint Chocolate Chip POMs are a very poppy sounding tactile with a similar D shaped bump as BobaU4Ts. I recommend a top mount with a stiffer plate like brass if you use tactiles.
99% of the people watching this didn't understand a word from that sadly
@@aapelikananena9699 Sadly, but new people join the hobby every day. Ngl thought, my wallet hates me for even starting it lol.
@@user-vc8by1ml4d Yeah, you'd think they'd want to put the Drop +Invyr Holy Pandas on the tester. If for no other reason than hopefully boosting their sales.
Chocolate chip poms are nice
big keeb nerd here, i’d love to try plateless but i’m terrified of soldering
I have heard of click bait… but this is extreme. Love it!

This reminds me I needed a new keyboard, so I did a bit of research and went down the rabbit hole till I was watching videos of how to resin pour your own aesthetic keycaps.
I'm not going to lie... I just bought one of these for my own tactile ASMR... I am so excited about it 🤣🤣
Im looking at theese comments and gibi has responded to so much of them i like youtubers who respond to feedback like this very cool
Gibi: **gasps** "Kailh? Do I love you? Do I love you now? Cherry are we braking up?" I never expected to hear someone say something like this referring to keyboard keys 😆.
when she whispers "product", I get sleepy chills. Idk why that word is so good in ASMR, but I like it
Loved the random typing at the end after you went over them all would love a full video of that like you were just using it as a normal keyboard typing normal sentences and just seeing how they sound with the different switches
It reminded me somewhat of typing sounds which I really love ☺️, thank you.
IT'S HEEERRRE
what a coincidence, I just started building a 3D printed mechanical keyboard myself :)
edit
ooh ooh! aaand, I got my MassDrop x Sennheiser headphones in the mail yesterday! I love em!
22:16 weight refers to actuation force typically (how much force it takes to press a key)
So yes, you were correct
When you pressed them all at the same time i melted, sooo satisfying 😵💫
As a person who’s deep in the keeb hobby I’m so happy too see new UA-camrs getting into the hobby and making videos on it!
I love keyboard sounds! Leave it to Gibi to make the perfect keyboard ASMR! Can’t wait to fall asleep 😴 💤 to this tonight!
You are so comforting when you speak and I love that we can really see your interest in these keys and your enjoyment in trying them

Day 128 of asking Gibi to do
a role play of Avatar: The Last Airbender with every character, except it’s in ASMR, when she hits 5 million subscribers.
The adds at the start of every video should be its own video on her channel!
YES!
Plot twist: Gibi is actually hacking the world but she's keeping us distracted by disguising it as a relaxing vid
Nah
Nah dude, you over thought it.
With the Kailh switches being box means that they have a box around the connector which also can help with the spring noise cancellation also helps to bring out some of the clickyness of the keys
Can't say I haven't been waiting a lot for the next video, and here it is, and I am a happy man ❤️ take care of yourself girl we don't mind waiting 👐
i really dislike the spring sound, too. those kailh browns sound good. no spring => less stress in brain. silent brown, speed copper, are mine. the sound is subtle, no spring, and the stroke seees to be pretty nice too. i'd have to try them out. i type fast when i'm gaming, MMOs with MnK so yeah, qu9ick response is good
You can eliminate spring ping with a painful process called lubing switches. Its super annoying but it makes any switch have very little "Spring sound"
I saw the behind the scenes clip from Instagram, so I know how much work you put into this! 🙏♥️ you’re the best!!
Hearing you type on it like it was a regular keyboard makes me want a roleplay video where each of the keys are a different switch and you interview us and type our answers out with the franken-keyboard.
Seeing a new Gibi video in my feed again made me so so happy and lifted away anxiety that I didn't even know was there. Thank you Gibi for bringing such a grounding presence with your videos. Much love and appreciation x
I bought myself a 72 switch tester a while back! This video is right up my alley 🙂
wishing everyone the best sleep of their life :))
Can't be a new year without Gibi's first video of 2022 being sponsored by Helix
I almost died when she said she broke the keyboard 😂😂 poor girl, that would had happened to me too 😂😂❤️
I would have gone insane, i built mine a year ago and im too fond of it, its my first and only keyboard, built from scratch with gateron yellow switchs, white reperposed keycaps, cheap resin case, a few leds and a personalised esc and space bar. Nothing special and as cheap as i could make it but its just the Best feeling makeing one and im attached to it now,
Gibi is the only UA-camr where I actually watch the sponsor.
The Helix sponsor are always so good ! I'm already relaxed by hearing you talk about it 😴
I love clicky keyboards and your soft speaking. Reminds me of my early asmr experience with how the teacher would talk and keyboard typing in school.
Ooh also, getting so close to 4 million subscribers, anything special planned for 4 million?
Much love from Sydney Australia
girl ur feeding us with content 😩 love u
The whole video/the typing sounds were lovely but something about the smoothing and the light scratching of the reference paper was very nice
as someone with a kailh speed silver build, I can attest to the speediness of it but it is also very easy to make mistakes if you aren't careful 😂but I enjoy it after getting used to it
also that "Cherry liner grey" was definitely a typo lol you originally read it right as linear grey
#7, or cherry green, is my favorite on the top row! Just because I love the extra "clicky" noise!
That thumbnail is SOO NICE!!! Somethin about it is so visually pleasing
IKR
oh my gosh I love this!! It looks so fun to fidget with! I also prefer the cherry brown switches which is why I chose a keyboard with razer orange switches which are similar :) Thank you for another great video!
Testing and reviewing different clicky keys with special names is what I live for 😍😍
I love the clicky click. Like typewriter clicks. My keyboard finally came!!!
Like you, I particularly enjoyed the sound of the Cherry milk key, so I looked into it. Apparently, they're only called 'milk' in Asia - 'white' in the west. They seem to be notorious for consistency problems, i.e. one of the white keys might sound and feel great but another could feel bad. There's a Reddit thread on it if you're interested. It's a shame because I really liked that one. But I'm very interested in the Gateron silent keys though. Need to look into them. Thank you for showcasing this! This is something I've never explored before and I think it's fascinating.
Also, 'cN' is centinewtons (100 centinewtons = 1 Newton). The Newton is a standard measure of force, so this refers to how hard you have to press the key. As an example, the Cherry MX blacks are rated at 60cN, which is 0.6N.
Hope the Jan/Feb schedule is working well for you!!
cN is basically an equivalent to grams, when we talk about the operating force of the mechanical switches
btw, check out some other silent switches then gateron silents. Gazzew, for example, has a silent tactile switch called boba U4 as well as a silent linear switch called bobagum.
@@laxxie8234 Thank you for the info! Just out of curiosity, do you do keyboard self-builds? And what keys do you use?
@@kam8556 nah, I'm just a casual who is interested in this topic, that's all :D
However I'd like to start a channel covering custom as well as pre-build keyboards on the Chinese market (e.g. Aliexpress) because there are some decent options which are insanely good in terms of quality for it's price.
@@kam8556 if you're gonna build a custom keyboard, there are a ton of different options. I would suggest you to pick a sound profile you personally like (e.g. low-pitched or thock (that's how it's called in the community), high-pitched (or clacky), poppy, muted, etc.) and the type of the switch (linear, tactile or clicky). Then there are different materials for plates (like fr4, polycarbonate, aluminum, brass, etc.) and cases (plastic, aluminum, etc.) which can also affect the sound pretty heavily.
And there are even lots of mods with which you can upgrade your keyboard (like tape-mod where you basically put tape under your PCB to improve the sound, pe-foam which gives a poppy sound signature and so on).
saw this video and immediately had a flashback to a toy i had when i was a kid. it looked like that, but it had multiplication problems on it, and when u pressed the key in, it showed the answer through the plastic. i dont remember where i got the damned thing, but i remember just LOVING how the keys pressed in and the sound it made when u pressed them lol
Been waiting for something like this!! Perfect timing for sleep 💤
bro the fact that you somehow happen to like cherry browns just brings joy to my heart
keyboard asmr is to good to be real you know
Everytime Gibi talks about Helix i just wonder which ancestor’s life i’m gonna live when i sleep on it
This ASMR is so relaxing, great video :D
Something I've really been enjoying is using a super fast and light switch (khail speed silver) for the normal typing keys and then tactile switches (cherry browns) for modifiers, space bar, etc. Typing and gaming are super fast but with a tactile punctuation at the end of each word. I also tend to leave my thumb on the space bar and the silvers are so light that I would accidentally actuate some times and the browns fix that as well.
I love key sounds. Thank you for this video. Also i love your calming voice it's not too loud and not too soft 😊❤
You have no idea how many times I will be coming back to this video
I feel like now since you’re only posting once a week I look forward more to your videos and enjoy them more once they are up.
I love clicky sounds, and I haven't been able to find any great keyboard ASMR videos.
Love it! Gibi, keep working hard, your videos bring me so much joy. Thank you!
I wanted to fall asleep, but this is actually pretty interesting :'D
now this was a real fine video. I'm sufficiently relaxed
To be honest, I clicked on this video not expecting a lot because I usually don‘t like Keybord Sounds. But now Im really enjoying this video. 👍
I came for the clicks, but got really invested in the differences wow
The gat in gateron switches is pronounced like cat, so it’s gat-Eron switches. Great video Gibi thanks for sleep fuel 💤
depends if you say in uk way or amerika way u can honestly say both Gater-on Gat-eron; "Gayteron" I dont think Gateron will care 😂
I saw you on an ad on UA-cam at school today I was so happy
This video was relaxing, satisfying and super interesting all at the same time, never knew there were so many different types of keyboard keys, The More You Know.
after watching this i would honestly love to get a keyboard with just a bunch of random switches.. the random clicks and noises are so nice to listen to
This video was a match made in Heaven. I love Gibi ASMR, as well as keyboards, and both of them combined is awesome. Gonna love this video!
am i the only one that watches enough asmr to basically be a helix and raycon spokesperson because i have the sponsorship thing memorized? like i sounded like i had a whole speech prepared when i tried to convince my parents to get a helix the other day lmao
That is so cool when Gibi's can relax and enjoy the mattress and a good night sleep while sleeping in the correct position to make sure the bed is comfortable and making the sound of clock or maybe timer to adjust the time of our sleeping schedule!? I am just subscribed to your channel 👍💯🔔💚🦅🙏
Sorry what 😭
I am so confused 😭
I cried my self to sleep when she said that her favorite was the cheery brown
Seeing as a lot of other people have answered the other questions Gibi had like spring ping and milky housing so I'll answered the so far unaswered question of the BOX switches. It just means the way the stem is shaped. Many of the stems have a litte cross on the top that goes into the keycaps. BOX switches have that same cross but they also have a little "box" around them that helps them stay a lot more stable and not wiggle around as much. It shouldn't effect the sound at all just stability.
Also... we all have that "breaking up with cherry" moment, trust me.
I came into this with no expectations at all but now I'm in love with silent black
Having to wait a whole week for a new video from Gibi now actually makes it feel more special, I appreciate the upload even more, and I'm happy she's finally taking a very well deserved break 😊.
Me too!! 😇
Omg this is actually incredible. This is an amazing ASMR video, but it doubles as a video I can reference when getting or thinking of purchasing new switches. Phenomenal! :)
hey! :) you probably need sleep, right? your sleep journey starts at 2:42!
~goodnight~
This is one of those weird crossovers for me since I watch a lot of ASMR and Keyboard content as well. Weird, but in a good way cuz i loved this
Gibi asmr are still keep improving every year🥰
pressing all the keys at once ?? w the rings?? unexpected banger
SMD vs. Regular. SMD means the switch is soldered to the SURFACE of the circuit board. Regular switches are THROUGH HOLE meaning they have pins that go THROUGH the circuit board and are soldered to the back. It shouldn't make THAT much of a difference to the sound as the mechanism of the switch is the same. Through hole switches would be more secure IMO.
The led is SMD not the switch itself iirc.
@@DeKempster Oh really? Did not know that, I just assumed it was the switch. Why on earth would they have a different version for smd vs through hole LED? That's.... odd.
Love to see the Kailh appreciation!!
