- In this episode of the Prancing Skunk Podcast Mike and Colleen go through some of the more exotic car collections they have encountered. Excellent video, thank you for the awesome insight into Brunei. I remember years and years ago reading Mike's famous blog post. But I am so convinced there is a large-ish market for many of the highend and bespoke Brunei cars (even in horrendous condition). A lot of us car nuts are into some really weird and obscure shit! No matter the jurisdiction there are always methods to getting cars imported and registered. Also, RHD collector car markets are larger than you may think!
The Sultan of Brunei collection is one of the most fascinating car stories out there. It reached legendary status, the amount of articles and blogs out there about the collection is incredible. I imagine a lot of stories out there are made up, but I always find them interesting even if they are just rumours. Now, I know that some of the Sultan's car have been sold, for instance, 2 right-hand drive F40 have been sold in England recently. A red one sold through Talacrest a couple of years ago and recently a dark grey one sold through DK Engineering. There's also a on-off blue Ferrari FX over there in the States. Now, about the Mclaren F1(s). Don't know if it's a rumour, but I've read the Sultan owns 11 of them, 3 of them being the holy grail LM version. If that's true, it breaks my heart knowing that they're probably still in Brunei melting under all that heat and humidity.
Great podcast overall, I would love to see more episodes talking about other hidden collections you've guys seen over the years. All the best guys, keep the good content coming.
One of the F1 LM's left the collection in 2020 I was told, supposedly it's one of the LM's in their unique livery too!
@James Richards nope as far as I'm aware it's still there. 1 Maclaren f1 just was flown to mso so that may be what you heard
Hi just letting you know that these cars aren't rotting there in fact the ones that did rot were fixed as far as Ik as well as the ac so they won't rot in the future literally because the dude in the video outright refused to buy any of them he was like "hmmm I guess they are that bad I should check that out" also the Grey rhd f40 is the sultans car the red one is most likely his car because when the gray one was sold it was repainted to rosso corsa then was redone the gray by dk engineering because thats how it looked in brunei also they only made 7 f40s in rhd and only 3 have left brunei the gray car with red stripe or "the Rudolph of the brunei f40s" the white car that sold to Tokyo and the yellow one that ithink is in the states but may have been repainted rossocorsa but idk there's not mutch on these cars after they left the collection
I love finding out more stuff about that collection. Most of it was such a mystery for so long! I remember that article Mike wrote a while ago.. Thank you for sharing more!
Most of us grew up learning on Honda Civics/Toyota Camrys. YOU have had a “golden upbringing” having a father so “into the F-Car Scene” in SoCal, you probably think it’s normal for a SoCal gal growing up there…great to see you have the same interest/knowledge as your father does. A great look 👀 for a “Tom-boy” lol. Great video on a topic that not many people in the world have access to. New subscriber here.
Great stories as always. Keep ‘em coming
Great podcast. Looking forward to the next one.
Great stories, very interesting! Thank You!
This was a lot of fun thank you!
Really enjoyed this .thanks
Thanks for the great video.JDS
A Bruneian here.. couldn't agree more with your father. The supercars will be out of reach for any potential buyer. Plus it's such a bad history to the government for what had happened to during the 1997 economic crisis.
*what had happened during
Since the cars were brought during the heydays, its better for the government officers incharge to not to do anything about it now
*bought
What a bizarre place. Great stories.
Great chat, enjoyed it all. Sad about the Brunei collection.
Great content as always Coleen. 😁👍
@Ferraris only why on earth would I contact you? You've stolen the thumbnail of Coleens channel.
Excellent video
Wow, thats nuts. I gotta step up my game.
Great show
Fast forward 19 years and Lawrence Stroll owns an F1 team. Great story
I was anticipating him mentioning the "Playmate mansion". All but a handful of playmates "served" there in rotation. $$$$
"A lot of them had fuzzy seats!"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🏻.
Mike should write a book. Or maybe a few of them.
At 41:00 that reminds me of the Getty family story, although none of the children of John Gettys children would be old enough
interesting !! thx
Great discussion. Maybe next time about the best Ferrari restoration shops around the world?
I would be interested in what you think about the cars that they painted yellow. To me it looks like a paint that I used to use for painting snow plows.Every year we used to strip down the snow equipment and sand blast them then I would just be spraying the yellow for days.It looks like that is what they did but they didn't care if it was a McLaren or lambo or Ferrari.
I think you could talk about
Some diferent types and body's of Ferraris, for example I Googled 274 GTB C and it showed mi a lot of Ferraris with different body's which one was the "real" the onde that worth oneunder milhon dollars
You know the Swap Shop! Mmmm you know where the Peasants shop for trinkets
I've been following the cnc saga. Just curious if you knew clay? Don't have to answer if you don't want to but I do love your videos and watch them as soon as they come out. have a good day
After I asked you that, I thought about it, and I should not have asked you. you are a business woman and you do not want to comment on things like that. I really enjoy your personality on your videos and you have great content. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Your dad seems like a really great guy also.
People out there, whose lives are impossible to even thinking about.
Sultan has 300 million worth of mclaren 9 F40 and 67 456
I have taken to calling this channel "Ferrari for Dummies" This is in no way an insult.
Great video!! Some many good story’s from Brunei!
But please let your father talk when he talks. So annoying to interrupt him.
Yes she did it quite a few times but I am sure she will reduce this in future interviews.
What about parting out the sultans cars? They may never run as their one cars again. But you could make millions on the parts. I who else would have the parts needed to repair a crashed F40 or whatever.
Actually I think Ferrari would definitely be interested in the F40s Enzos and F50s.Some guy had a high speed crash and split the car in half and Ferrari rebuilt the car.
Wow! What a shame. For the investment to liberate the whole collection might be worth it in low mileage parts. Labor intensive gambling. Might (mite) be worth it. A mite is tiny on a gnat's behind! Great video, thanks for posting this.
Glad you enjoyed it. Theres some crazy car collections out there that people really dont know exist.

I have worked on aircraft for over 30 years now. Sorry to hear they are only a mode of transport for you. I must admit, they are 2 minutes of pure adrenalin (sometimes terror) on either end of the flight. Hours of non engaging boredom in between. Not able to afford the high end cars, I keep interest engaged with sportbikes. Love the cars nonetheless.
@@upsidedowndog1256 The most SUPER of supercars is only an average performer compared to most aircraft.

I get to R&R a Piper Matrix engine. Should be interesting. Nosegear has an AD on it too. The engine and nosegear mount need to be replaced. Should be a cool project. I love a challenge.
@@FerrarisOnline your videos are the best
The Sultan had 7 right hand drive Ferrari F40's made specially by Pininfarina.
I’ve seen one in red
didn't show any cars!!!
He have lhd cars in England too 😉
And several in the united states aswell but whos counting.
There’s a guy I’d like to open a bottle of Jameson with! 👍
_The girl was really tried to disrespect the sultan._
Sultan of brunei 7000 car..
Very much doubt that a 275gtc is worth more than any 250gto even this one as mentioned in this video (which was great and fascinating by the way) ua-cam.com/video/xKRl_mq3K_k/v-deo.html
275 GTB/C theres a difference. The video you posted is literally the car. Lol.
That video would be the car in question. The owner has 0 need to sell and has already turned down offer higher than what a 250gto has sold for. However time will tell if it ever ends up selling for more.
@@FerrarisOnline .
@@FerrarisOnline That is incredible... and the mercedes that just sold for $140m has probably lifted the water mark on these types of cars...maybe one of them will go for $200m one day. And perhaps that would be the amount needed to buy number 22?! The owner is your fellow country woman I believe....
What a big waste in Brunei...i hope they sell them to proper care 🤕
sorry about that, that account was pretending to be us. youtube should be removing it now....
@@FerrarisOnline no worries, thanks for the support. Have a smooth ride ✌️👍
