ugh this gives me so much hope! I've been thinking of van life for the past few years but what always stopped me was the fact that I have 2 rabbits. So seeing that someone is making it work with their rabbits brings me so much joy!
I very much appreciate that she recognized the people that helped her with her build. It was so heartwarming to hear how much she wants people to feel welcome and how she found ways to handle the adversity.
This young lady is so intelligent & open minded. Her schoolie is delightful & welcoming! She is inspiring to the max. I thoroughly enjoyed this video!!!
It's beautiful, you and mom should be so proud. Air Conditioner: try one of those swimming noodles at your Dollar store, slice into strips, spray paint white (or glow in the dark lol), and glue onto the side of each edge of the unit and it will be much nicer when you hit your head on that and it's cheap. Just a thought to save your head, May you have good adventures.
I am tall and live in a house with a 100 year old basement with retrofitted HVAC and pipes. I hit my head all the time until I decorated it with fake 💐 flowers and ribbons so the ribbons brush against my hair and I feel it, thus not slamming my head all the time. My stove range fan is also too low, and I just magnet recipes and cute clippings and cards, etc, letting the edges of the paper dangle off the edge so I sense the blasted stainless steel corners gently instead of getting those head dents!
This shows you don’t need a lot of money if you’re willing to get your hands dirty (and you have family & friends that can also pitch in). I really like the simple clean lines of this build. Stephanie - I looked at your Facebook page. Your carvings are beautiful!
You and your mom did a phenomenal job. I love the bunnies. It's so light and airy and everything so compact and so will thought out. It's amazing that you didn't pay more for your build out because it looks like you did very well done!

This is my kind of gal! I had a stroke of bad luck a few years back and my middle-class, American dream came tumbling down. I found myself in a cheap tiny space with nothing to my name. I am a single, 5'2 petite woman with no building experience but I managed to built almost everything I needed to furnish it with my own two hands. It was the most empowering experience. Even now that my net worth is higher than ever before, I still keep many of the pieces I built with me because they remind me that in my darkest hour, I have within me the power to rise again.
Stephanie I love your bus conversion. Your Beautiful Spirit is in that bus. I pray that when I buy my bus and do a conversion it will have the beautiful spirit that is in your bus. Thanks for sharing your Passion and your journey.

You can even start now collecting some things you would like for the inside that are special to you that will be wonderful memories to take into your bus Kathryn🦋🎈 I love the fact that you are so forward thinking as a young woman. My granddaughter started thinking the same way when she was 16 she is now 18 and is letting fear of all the things going on in the world hold her back from taking the jump into her life‘s journey in tiny living🦋🎈
@@RoseLawrence765 Awe I hope your granddaughter gets past the fear she has right now. Maybe share these videos of other women going for it, and it will inspire her, and she will see there is a community for this type of living. I am at the beginning stages currently, after just purchasing my bus. Start planning now. You can make a lot of sketches and see what works the best for you. Learn some basic wood working and electrical skills. Ask for RV appliances for birthdays or Christmas. You'll get so much satisfaction out of it when it's all finished.
Love, love, love this beautiful tiny home. The fact that she and her mother built if makes it even more special. Only thing I would change is I would settle for a twin bed so that I could have room for a water closet/toilet.
I've seen short cabinets for the toilet, that open in front AND on top, and latch open with magnets. Then screw up a round or oval shower curtain rod above, and install a hand held shower head, put in a shower pan and drain below, with a teak slatted floor that the toilet sits on, on a slide out. Slide the toilet out, into the walking space, and voila... you now can step into a shower!
Installation of your toilet/shower cabinet can go under where that extra mattress space would be, with the lifting top providing the support for that extra piece of mattress. Add another 1/2 high storage cabinet on the opposite side of the corridor, with a pull out shelf for mattress support when needed, and open shelving up high above it.

Am watching this on March 8th, International Women's Day, so it's extra meaningful and inspirational to see what a beautiful tiny-home-on-wheels two women can create, and on a budget most of us can afford. I love everything about this! Thank you for sharing!
Love everything about the bus, especially the fact that you and your Mum built it! For myself I would’ve shortened the length of the kitchen/living area to create a wet bathroom.

We had an older full size RV that was absolutely gorgeous but unbeknownst to us, the former owner had concealed it had been in an accident and probably abused. Endless problems with all the appliances, the electric steps, the windshield, and even both sets of brakes. I spent thousands on repairing things that should have worked from day one. The brakes failed on our first real trip out up into the mountains in it. We were very lucky we were going uphill at the time, because if it had been the other way, we would have died as both sets of brakes failed. We waited an entire day by the side of the road to be towed home at a cost of about $1000. Then almost $2000 to pull the engine and replace the brakes, put on some leveling springs and fix the steps. After all that I didn't feel safe in it anymore and sold it. One of the people who came to look at it told me it looked like there was water damage inside I was too ignorant to notice. What I am getting at is as a woman, you could be out in the middle of nowhere and have major mechanical problems. Be for you wander too far, have someone knowledgeable go from one end to the other making sure everything is safe and functional. Other than that, I still want to make my own RV and I'm over 70.
The way the seating area converts to a bed has given me an idea and the coffee table idea is genius and could also be a support for the bed extension... I feel a bed rebuild coming on.
Make the coffee table good and sturdy and it could be used as a step stool either if youngins are visiting, you have a pooch that needs a little help up onto the bed, or to get to something in the storage from outdoors and not have to risk spilling the pitchitpot.
You are so fortunate to have had a workshop and someone to mentor you. If I ever won the lottery, I'd set up around the country - community workshops for people to do this and have people to help guide them on how to make things. Whether its that darling sofa table or an entire skoolie build - making your own things is a lost art. And schools need to get back into Industrial Arts classes - have group projects of tiny homes for the local homeless - work with the city on setting things up. There's a school in San Antonio that has done a fantastic job building different houses and then auctioning them off in order to fund the next years' projects. Kids that don't want to go to college - yes, there's a LOT of them - NEED to have this learning available to them.
Love you bus my daughter has just been redoing a skoolie she is an RN and covid has really been burning her out so I understand your situation The skoolie has been a life saver for her mentally to just be able to work on it and go off camping and meditate to get control of her life
Stephanie, Hello fantastic lady. I am so touched by your tiny homes video. You are the first person I've seen on these shows to hear the change to a schoolie due to covid. You are such a inspiration. I'm glad you are happy and free life at 8 grand is amazing. You and your mom are incredibly talented. Hope you're fine and get in touch. God bless! You are amazing. Love the bus
She is so humble and full of life! I love this one the most. & love how she made this with her mother. I mentioned to my mother I want to do this and she wants to help me build it as well.
You are a good example of when life hands you lemons make lemonade, but you went beyond lemonade you made sunshine !!!!! You did not go into a pity party, the why me song. You decided to get up and get down and created a home for you and those cute bunnies to live in. You and your mother were very creative with your budget. I love this it feels like home and comfortable. It's lovely, it is something I would not mind living in. You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story. Btw your mother rocks !!!!! Girl power I love it !!!!!! You are right it is a blessing, hold on to your peace. But child proof, or put some kind of cushion around the AC, to absorb the blows to the head. 😄

I particularly Love the Rooftop Deck....something I have never seen in any kind of Bus Remodel before. May YOU BE BLESSED in Your NEW HOME Forever More. Warmly, Lay Chaplain Kelly Chase
This is beautiful. Every story like this makes me so much more excited to get my bus soon. Very well done and what a sweet woman with a ton of courage. As a man with 2 daughters, I adore stories like this because it gives me more to show my daughters as to what they are capable of. I love this build! Especially how she made space for her rabbits! Hopefully one day I'll have my own tiny home and I can use the idea of putting the animal enclosure under the couch for my snake!
Just hearing the gratitude you have for your mom, warmed my heart. You made lemonade from the lemons you were handed. I am grateful I was able to keep my business through this virus and I’m now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️
I’m loving these videos for the ingenious little things people do. The way they constructed that backrest to slot into place to also widen that couch so it could become a sleeping area is just fantastic 👏
The insulated curtains are worth every penny. Your bed looks heavenly calm amd peaceful. You have achieved such a journey. Forced into it but well worth the pain and learning. It reflects everything you love and enjoy.
This is beautiful and she seems like such a great woman. Love her outlook and I’m also a bunny lady. Have 3 myself! So cool to see what she did for them. I love how she decorated and made it feel so cozy and homey. I just never know how people can do this without a bathroom. I could never. For times when you don’t feel well, or just want to shower privately. I would have to have a bathroom. I’ve been planning to do this now for 7 months and I’m getting all my ideas and research from UA-cam and Reddit. She has given me tons of inspiration!
I just purchased a 32', 1992 International 3800 School Bus, and I have a composting toilet which is great, and a shower, sink, and a LG washer & dryer combo. I'm literally in the middle of the build, so of these I've only used the toilet & sink so far. Shower is fully functional, but as I moved my things on the bus, the shower got filled up pretty quickly, so I've showered at a friend's house. And the w&d just needs the wiring connected, so today I will be going to a laundry mat for the first time in many years lol Good luck in your research. Keep in mind, you'll end up doing more, changing things, etc once you buy your bus. Christina & The Animal Love Fest 😽😽😽😽🐺🐰💋
Sandra Westley from the UK we have caravanned for years in the UK over 40 and all over Europe and vans did not come with showers at all in those days, we purchased a weed sprayer put a towel on the floor stand in a bowl, the spray yourself down, the other innovations we had was a ring round your neck, you fill a large container with warm water pop the foot pump in, and pump away, you had your shower. But these days nearly all sites have showers so it’s not essential to fit them into tiny homes.
You are such a smart woman with a lovely sense of style. You did the right thing during these scary times and I love that your talented Mummabear had your back. I would be so happy to know you. Go you!
You must be so proud of your Mom and her woodworking/crafting skills. It must have made you two grow closer together when working on your bus. That’s a great feeling, and a greater memory.
Covid made her do it out of fear but now she’s living her best life doing something she would have never done if it wasn’t for the unexpected leap of faith ❤️
Your story is so inspiring. I'm working towards retirement with no real retirement funds and working to get "out from under the fear" as you mentioned. I'm planning to go tiny for the next 5 years to build my independence and retirement fund without paying $2k/month in rent. Thank you soooo much.
The story and how this wonderful lady has done is simply remarkable! Loved all the repurposed material is awesome. The memories you have with your mum is going to last for a long time. Kudos and thanks for inspiring.

Donna I so agree with you on Industrial Arts in school.
Hello Donna how are you doing!!
Love you bus my daughter has just been redoing a skoolie she is an RN and covid has really been burning her out so I understand your situation
The skoolie has been a life saver for her mentally to just be able to work on it and go off camping and meditate to get control of her life
She's so lucky, what s beautiful home and it's 100% hers debt free! I hope she enjoys her life in that Skooli.
I’m animal lover the little rabbit habit sent me over the moon! I totally loved this built and all of your thoughtfulness
What a special young woman! She should be proud (Mom too) of her accomplishments. Love the shabby chic skoolie, clean, casual and cozy. 💙
Hello Chris how are you doing!!
sis what a message on a sunday morning! this was not only a beautiful build, it was super encouraging and uplifting. :)
Yess!
Absolutely agree!
I agree very inspirational and very encouraging! So proud of you
You go ladies!!😁 Moms are the best.
You are so inspiring. That "getting out from under your fear" i felt that. I want to do the same and work with what i have.
Where's the bathroom?
What a wonderful story. To have a mom like hers is a true blessing. All the best to her and her rabbits, and safe travels.
Stephanie,
Hello fantastic lady.
Agreed ✍🏻Resourceful Resiliency and a kind soul sharing her Get up & Getter done ✅
Thank y'all so much!

Thank you for being so strong. Safe travels wood artist
WOW THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVE the White and Wood Tone Color Palette. It makes the BUS look SO Spacious. Your Bedroom is So Cozy and Inviting. I particularly Love the Rooftop Deck....something I have never seen in any kind of Bus Remodel before.
May YOU BE BLESSED in Your NEW HOME Forever More.
Warmly,
Lay Chaplain Kelly Chase
This is beautiful. Every story like this makes me so much more excited to get my bus soon.
Very well done and what a sweet woman with a ton of courage. As a man with 2 daughters, I adore stories like this because it gives me more to show my daughters as to what they are capable of.
To all young woman, NEVER let anyone tell you that you cant do something! My mother was the strongest most impressive woman I know. HEROES!! ❤❤
She is an amazing, together young woman. Very articulate and has all her values in line for a great life. She is an inspiration. Love her schooly, love her lifestyle. You go girl!
This is one of the best conversations I've seen. Absolutely amazing!
I love this woman, wood work, that's so cool
Wonderful home and you are a free woman!
Beautiful bus, and I am stealing that tote/drawer idea!
"I wasn't gonna be controlled by fear [of the pandemic and the uncertainty of life]"
I have mad respect for you, and I wish you nothing but the best of luck in life.
Can't believe how beautiful, plus she found freedom incredible
The woodwork is breathtaking!
You are a beautiful person, and you created a beautiful home on wheels. Blessings to you.
Who the hell “dislikes” something like this? Great job girl, inspiring!
I love this build! Especially how she made space for her rabbits! Hopefully one day I'll have my own tiny home and I can use the idea of putting the animal enclosure under the couch for my snake!
Love this. I want to go tiny but incorporate my reptile rack somehow 💕
Just hearing the gratitude you have for your mom, warmed my heart. You made lemonade from the lemons you were handed. I am grateful I was able to keep my business through this virus and I’m now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you for sharing your experience. ❤️
What a blessing to have done this with your mother. It was a gift for both of you.
Love this and how she said... there is so many ways to get your freedom. A new type of freedom in a new direction! Let nothing hold you back.
Corinne,
Good for you! Let us know how you do. If you go schoolie or some other version.
Good luck and stay safe
I also love how she accommodated her bunnies!
One could totally add a shower/toilet/sink area..just might need a bit longer bus and I think 19' is the size or length to be able to park anywhere?
Mad props to this badass chica! She's an inspiration with a lovely skoolie. Her mom sounds pretty awesome too 👍
So real and authentic. I not only love the Skoolie, but love her vibe!
This girl is awesome! And she did all of this on a very small budget! Sounds like it was life changing for her. ❤️
U are an awesome admiration! A woman can do anything! Just make it happen. Proud of her. GOD let everything happens for reason.
Covid made her do it out of fear but now she’s living her best life doing something she would have never done if it wasn’t for the unexpected leap of faith ❤️
I love everything she done. Its so homey and comfy. It just needs a shower. Lovely home. Great job. So positive. Thank you
So positive woman, so nice, cozy, bright and functional home. I like this energy, hospitality, smile. Good luck!
This is a beautiful bus. It looks feminine, calming, and very nicely put together. It is a excellent job. 👍🏼👍🏼
Hello glenna, hope you don't mind us being friends okay 🌹
What’s feminine??
You and your mom did a fantastic job..beautiful
Your story is so inspiring. I'm working towards retirement with no real retirement funds and working to get "out from under the fear" as you mentioned. I'm planning to go tiny for the next 5 years to build my independence and retirement fund without paying $2k/month in rent. Thank you soooo much.
The story and how this wonderful lady has done is simply remarkable! Loved all the repurposed material is awesome. The memories you have with your mum is going to last for a long time. Kudos and thanks for inspiring.
Where in Florida? I’m in Orlando and I’ve done one year van life but I’m contemplating skoolie life. Your build is beautiful and you and your mom must be so proud! Women power indeed!
Of ALL of the many, many fantastic van build videos I’ve seen, this is my favorite by far. So much Love and soul here; authenticity at it’s finest. High vibes. Most inspiring. 💖
Best video I have seen and the most beautiful tiny home bus, absolutely beautiful
You should seriously "consultant/Build" other vans! You have one of the Best ones yet I have seen! Have fun!!
Absolutely beautiful little tiny home so proud of you & your mom🎈 you might be able to do this as a living to help other women🥳🎈
Great benefit idea, get some unhoused housed. Especially, in less temperate climates.
Rose, I agree, she and her mom should give tutorials on how to, empower more women, young and older. Breathtaking!! I wish I had found out abt these conversions 10years ago. I am in the process of doing a minivan camper younger,
Hello Rose how are you doing!!
I really really admire this lady. You can just tell she is postive and has a good spirit ! I'm happy she enjoys her skoolie life so much. Great build. It's lovely the recognition you gave your mothe. Girl power!! ☺💜
Your tiny home is beautiful ! You did an amazing job. Blessings to you for not allowing fear to consume you. Stay blessed and safe😇
You...your mom...and the bus...brilliant!❤️
I had to stop and comment before the video was even finished. I LOVE your attitude, your belief in yourself, your skillset, and your determination to take control. Especially during a time when so many of us might feel out of control. You and your Mom built an incredible "home". Extremely proud of you, on a lot of levels! Not sure if you are selling your products online, but I would suggest you do! Stay healthy and have fun!
Beautiful job. Gives me hope for women in the trades.
I absolutely love how innovative and creative she was!
Hello Charlene how are you doing!!
this is HANDS DOWN the nicest skoolie i’ve seen! you have a beautiful design style and i love how you took advantage of your skills and the clever multiple uses for each piece, handmade with recycled/repurposed materials. i wish you many safe travels and that every road you take is full of wonderful adventures
btw ... your bunnies are precious ❤️
I LOVE this bus and the spirit that built it. WAY TO GO!
What an amazing lady and amazing beautiful skoolie
