As an old fan, this was pretty much the best gift ever! I had a walkman cassette player, and I listened to Petra and Carmen and other Christian rock singers while my friends listened to whatever was popular on the radio. Being a millenial my first exposure to Petra was "Back to the Rock"... glad I looked more into things!!! So thankful for Christian rock, it helps when I grew up listening to rock :)
Still a great project. Many consider Greg X. Volz-era Petra to be Petra's heyday. I personally prefer John Schlitt, but with Back to the Rock, you get an album of eight re-records of classic Petra songs (so they sound better than the original versions) plus two new tracks that appeared on other projects (Back to the Rock, if I'm not mistaken, first appeared on a Greg X. Volz solo album).
wow. it HAS to be 20 years + since I have heard this song. Lord only knows where my cassettes have disappeared too. I think I may have ruined them for listening soo much! LOL. Thank you for allowing me to hear these songs again and Praise my Lord and God in this manner with these distant, yet familiar tunes. I can STILL remember 96% of the lyrics!!!

I had this album (on cassette) my freshman year of high school. I went to one of the few devout Christians I knew in school and asked her if she wanted it. She said sure but asked why I was giving it away. I told her it made me feel guilty. She said, "But that's what it's supposed to do!". Obviously, I wasn't living right at that time. She never said so, but I bet I was put on her prayer list that day. 😀
I havent heard this album forever. I couldn't remember any of the songs to google it but grave robber. Thanks so much for posting this, i really missed it. I wonder if its still in print somewhere.

How MANY years has it been since I've heard anything off this album besides Grave Robber??!?! Forgot all about the bass solo in this song. Gonna have to dig out the Discwasher, dust off the LP, and give it another spin one of these days.
The Last Gtreat Awakening is about to start now before the Rapture. It starts with you & me Loving People Like Jesus Loved us & them. Love them enough to correctly tell them about Jesus christ & what he did for us within 1 minute. 1 minute is all most non-christians will give you & me to Explain the Gospel. Just like this song says Evil has them under "Blinded Eyes"!!!!!Trueth in Plain view, but they have Blinded Eyes"!!!!!
Ain't that the truth! The same guy did artwork for Sweet Comfort Band and others . . . can't recall who. The flying guitar hearkens back to Boston. Journey and (absolutely best) Chicago had recurring themes.
