  • @Simplicityvirgie
    @Simplicityvirgie 4 роки тому +5

    The bananas called them senorita. Yellow big fruit is pomelo. And the pineapple, we called it pinya. Pomelo is like grapefruit.

    • @chattcedric6321
      @chattcedric6321 4 роки тому

      Just Virgie, it's not Senorita, it's LAKATAN. Senorita is a variety of LATUNDAN but a little smaller.

    • @Simplicityvirgie
      @Simplicityvirgie 4 роки тому

      @@chattcedric6321 Is that the banana that has seed on it?

    • @chattcedric6321
      @chattcedric6321 4 роки тому

      @@Simplicityvirgie No, it's called BUTUHAN derived from the word Buto (seeds) which is full of seeds and we don't eat it, we only use its leaves for making Suman or putting the leaves inside/under the pot when cooking rice for it gives nice smell. All bananas have seeds but so minute that sometimes people eat it unnoticed. Senorita is small and stout yellow banana, about 3 inches, while Lakatan is yellow-orange in color like the ones they ate. BTW, the smallest Banana is called INUKAY in Bicol, derived from the word UKAY which means Monkey (like the penis of monkey) and smaller than your little finger but very sweet. If you have seen the fruits of Abaca (Manila Hemp) plant it's like the Inukay, afterall Abaca belongs to the Banana Species. BTW where are you from?

    Fyi, mangoes are actually native to the Philippines and India...and were introduced to the rest of the world during the Spanish/Filipino/Mexican galleon trade back in the day.
    Guys, durian is an acquired taste. It's either you like it or you don't.

  • @mmchunter1mm

    The fruits you’re eating are sought after by all of us. The best fruits in the world. 😋 Mango, lanzones those tiny ones you thought lychee, mangosteen, pineapple, yellow watermelon, pomelo looks like grapefruit, local orange/naranghita and durian. It’s a little bit expensive because you’re in the beach town. You need to get jackfruit, its different from durian it’s jucier.

  • @NoypiStuff
    @NoypiStuff 4 роки тому +1

    Yes, durian is supposed to be "doughy" and not firm. It is very expensive if it is not in season and it is not grown in the area just when and where you had it. I was at the same resort when I was in Panglao. :)

    Fun watching 4 of you traveling, bonding, & enjoying. We have 3 grown boys & wished they had the chance of traveling together like you are doing before they got married. The fruits are very good. Hope you washed them before cutting & eating. My favorites on the table are: Mangosteen, lanzones, mango, yellow watermelon, pomelo(looks like a grapefruit), & pineapple. We do not like Durian (we do not like the smell but others like it). Durian made into sweets are ok. Would be nice if you travel with a Filipino friend who could talk to the locals when buying fruits or anything so you would get good deals. Like, $36 for the fruits seem pricey.

    Nice to see the close bonding and good vibes here! 👍🏼First time I tried Durian last month in Bali and Its creamy and slimy. We were informed to eat it right away as soon as you open or it start to stinka. I’m not a fan of it. Philippines has the sweetest papaya. I prefer it slightly yellow because it is firm and still sweet. Jackfruit, Lanzones, and the kind of Banana on your first video are my favorite. I miss Atis and most of the fruits in 🇵🇭. Oranges in 🇺🇸are sweeter

    • @chattcedric6321
      @chattcedric6321 4 роки тому

      SillyLizzy25, you can eat whole mango by itself without cutting/slicing it, just peel off the skin about half the mango and you can hold the unpeeled as you eat, then after eating the peeled one, hold the exposed seed and peel of the rest. That's the way to do it if knife isn't available. I always do it while on top of the mango tree gorging as much as I can.
