Just discovered this song today and I love it so much! As someone who has struggled with crippling depression and anxiety for as long as I can remember, it really speaks to me. The thing I dislike about most Christian music is it gives me the vibe of the judgemental old church ladies who are like "you should act happy all of the time, if you don't, you're wicked" it's refreshing to hear someone sing about their struggles and all of the messy emotional stuff that too many people act as if it's something vulgar to discuss.
This anxious agoraphobic left the house today for the first time in many months, and I took this song with me in my heart.
Always remember total freedom is an option that Jesus paid for with his blood 🌹

i don't know how long you been performing or ministering but keep up the Good Work Brother the song the holy spirit purposed in you sometimes has restored me momentarily but its that moment that become the spring board of Gods wrath upon the Enemy in your favor ie when you do good its as if your heaping hot coals on his head i was never a fan of getting even i either acted or i let someone off the Hook but I'm sure the few fights i had in my life the person that was on the receiving end was really at a disadvantage because i was not likely to hold back so they got the whoopin that that last person should of got and got away for whatever reason as a Former US Army Military Police officer i can recall several times when i had the enemy fair and square
and the ?Holy spirit distracted me or their guardian angel interceded and in that split second they survived what i was intending to deliver

Remember, your emotions are not your enemy. I used to believe that, and that belief drove me into despair until I crashed four years ago. God made us with emotions. God has emotions. And emotions have a purpose.
I learned over the last few years to tap into the purpose of my emotions and it lead me closer to God, my wife and my child.
Facing and going through our hurts and pains can feel like going through The valley of Shadow of Death and it is worth it. The Shepherd himself leads us through it to the next pasture.
Our emotions are God-given signposts to our identity in Christ.

I officially LOVE this song. Josh, thank you so much for making such a relatable song for so many people. To have a song that not only mentions both anxiety and depression (cause the two often go together), but also talk about the medication and counseling is SO meaningful because it’s such a hard topic to talk about, or even admit.
I love the line “not faith nor reason can convince me that you still fight for me”. I’ve felt that so often with my own depression. And it really is a struggle that effects you entirely. I’ve had days where I can’t even get out of bed. But this? This is such a breath of hope. Of courage. Of a reminder that there’s so many other people struggling even if we don’t always see it.

I was so glad to find this on itunes ! This redirected my focus. With covid came a 10 fold increase in temptation to fear. My playlists got stale & it seemed like all the new music was somber & dirge-full. My soul was straining to praise, for Habakkuk 3:17 songs that exhort me to shake off the heaviness/cares of this world & praise/enjoy God while I wait for Him. When I heard this, I felt it in the first few seconds: the Spirit reminding me that He is the lifter of my head ( Psalm 3:3) He is a shield about me.
Oh that we might bounce the joy of the Lord back & forth off each other :) How inexplicably marvelous that we are all edified in the sharing of the things that we would much rather hide .

It’s possible to be free of our demons. It’s not considered normal in mainstream Christians anymore but don’t forget Jesus paid for it on the cross ❤️
Josh, thank you so much for this. I have an anxiety disorder and have fought these demons most of my life. With God's help I found help and now have medication that helps tremendously, but my Savior leads me daily as I walk through the shadows. The fears that I am afraid of are truly afraid of Him.
