There are lots of data on Ratufa affinis, but not on subspecie cothurnata, which is not well documented. The pale giant squirrel (Ratufa affinis cothurnata) is found in Borneo and this case at Kubah with near threatened status.
Found a record in Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, which has records dated in 1913 in Sarawak Sungai Karangan. (not Sungai Karangau, Indonesia in statement).
