DXF Programming in Ver 4 7 for Sinumerik 840D Sl and 828D

It is very common in today’s manufacturing environment to be working directly from electronic DXF prints. In many cases the details required to explain part geometry many be too complex to create a traditional CAD print. Also human error can be avoided when programming by removing the data entry portion of a program. In this webinar we will be demonstrating the new fully integrated DXF option for software version 4.7. Users will now be able to bring DXF files directly to the Sinumerik control without the need for external software. We will create both a ShopMill (conversational) program as well as a ProgramGuide (g-code) part program utilizing a DXF file. Once complete attendees will have a good understanding of the steps required to program the Siemens Sinumerik control directly from a DXF file.

Is the DXF reader software a standalone program or it needs the Sinumerik Operate to be installed on the same computer?

No it is option on the control and standard in sinutrain

@@MrCNC I'm asking because there are two machines in the shop with the DXF reader installed on the control. But i was thinking about the possibility of installing the DXF reader in a PC. We don't have the Sinutrain in the computer.
I was trying to replace the old CAD reader for the DXF reader.
