Thank you Michael. I read on nottslive at about 0915 that an accident had occurred so I walked to the site. I waited about 30 mins before the recovery vehicle arrived, and after the discussion it took another 30 mins. So I did cool down a bit, but soon warmed up on the walk back. Interesting that the bus is back in service today.
.......got to feel for the driver to be honest, whatever happened.......hope they, and all on-board were ok.....used to drive the route when Trent were part of the operation and know the road well......not got time for stupid comments on accidents like this though!!.....
It was called devil's elbow many years ago when it was much more of a double bend. The tightness of the curve was reduced slightly but it still creates problems. A collision between a pronto bus and a car several years ago killed two people in the car. I was due to get that bus once it had arrived in Nottingham, but had to take a different bus to Leapool and walk along the A60. The car had a massive cover over it when I passed it.
that was a airline that the breakdown man was fitting to bus for brakes yes there will be more damage on way out than going in but insurance covers it if you dont know why he lifts it up its so he can extend his extender under front axle to use chains to make it secure for movement i have done this before
These bus drivers are terrible these days. Damn I’d never park a bus there! I started bus driving in the 90s when we had to earn our license. Now they get it from a cornflakes pack.

The only way i figure this out is either the bus driver wasn't concentratingor was very tired or was forced off the road by some IMBECILE!!! on the wrong side of the road ( probably on their BLOODY PHONE!!!)😠😠😠😠😡😡😡. As the bus doesn't look damaged but, a shock for any on board passengers & the driver. But, sometimes damage can't been seen not obvious at first until fully checked over. I mean it could have been faulty brakes or something else to cause this bus to leave the road anything is possible I suppose.
@@Thestig-en6gp with the fatal accident a few years ago it is clear that on occasions drivers do cross over. It is possible that the pronto driver had to swerve to avoid this. But this was at 0752!

@DaveBaker-vb3jg Thank you for your reasoned comments. As the bus had started this journey in Chesterfield I think it's feasible to assume that there was a driver change at Mansfield. In this area it is getting light at 0752...not dark at all.

@@r4ndym4n ....from what I recall, when Trent were part of Pronto, 21 shift as we knew it started at Mansfield to Chesterfield, Chesterfield to Nottingham Victoria, back to Mansfield, then a break and driver change..... would have been the same driver from start of shift, if recall right, 06.00 from Mansfield to Chesterfield......sorry to ramble on this, but feel so much for the driver who will carry this accident with him for a long, long time........

Fascinating video John, you must have got very cold standing there all that time,

@@r4ndym4n Hi again, amazing that the bus is back in service today.
As the bus is not badly damaged it should be back in use fairly soon.
Just a few panels to replace.
@@Toni-j3r good.
@r4ndym4n update. The bus is on the road. Right now. On service 14. 23.12.24
@@Toni-j3r wow. That was quick. I will add that to the description.
As an ex bus driver I feel for the driver. It’s all about speed, keeping to timetables that are almost always impossible to achieve.
At peak times it cannot keep to the timetable. Looking at bustimes for this journey it kept to the timetable very well indeed.
Where is it
Five miles south of Mansfield on the A60.
@r4ndym4n where's that

That's interesting. Thank you.
Bus company self insures for a very large figure. Only if the threshold reached do external insurance take part.

Bus hurts people?
It was reported that the twenty passengers were unhurt, I believe.
Why wasn't the road closed at this point
I have a feeling that car was parked too close for this operation..... Let's guess it was the photographers or some other clown.
I notice it was moved later.....

I am going to have to issue a parking ticket for that 😆😆😆😆
Hope you enjoyed the rescue of the bus even if the parking was a bit below what is expected.

The ambulance is way too late for this outrageous parking job
