I’m 36 and was thinking earlier of 5 people I grew up who are dead from drugs now. I pray there at rest and miss the old days. It breaks my heart to look back and see how things have changed.
Up here in Victoria, Canada, heroin, been using on off since 99. Being near Vancouver, it's always been high quality from Asia and never dry. Funny because Seattle is just across the border but they mostly had tar from Mexico.... Anyways, while I definitely knew people who OD it's nothing compared to now with fentanyl. People dying is normal. I work at a street outreach service and paramedics deal with people dropping daily. Crazy. From smoking too! Used to be you had to be shooting it but not anymore. I fact 2 of my coworkers died from it in the past year. Couldn't count the number of people that use our services who died, Alot.
I lived in miami during me 17-30s drugs where EVERYWHERE. It’s very easy to say no. They literally raise you in school, media and at home that drugs are bad. If you try that’s on you
PBD is lso right about SF. I was stationed at Ft. Ord (7th ID) 79’-82’, got out and stayed 2 more years in. San Jose. I can’t even put into words how AWESOME Cali was in those days. SF was most beautiful city in the world then. So romantic. I always said, “if I had one date to spark romance, SF is where I would take her”. Not anymore, unless of course you take her when The Chinese Communist Party leaders are in town. 😏
Now I understand union carpenters. Worked to their death !!!! Unbelievable mornings horrible weather conditions ,so physically exhausting !!!! Dangerous and terrifying weather !! I understand how they found this nesty drug
I’m the same age as this quay. Saw everyone dropping dead around me Long Island New York from heroin. Never touched the stuff. Don’t ever feel bad for druggies. They’re pathetic
God bless that poor child. So glad he was able to break free and start a new life.

I'm 42 and four people that I grew up with are dead from drugs
I've learned about heroin in 1980.
I was 8 years old and that's when I found out my mother was hooked on that stuff, after my parents divorced!
PBD - great job as always. It’s important to hear the challenges for those dealing with addiction
More importantly, the proposed budget cuts to our Medicare and Medicade!!!

Oh wow! That interview was too short!
There has never been enough done to keep drugs off the street ! Never ! And likely on purpose.
PBD - is asking because he should be- not for what the audience thinks. It’s to protect his children
Oxy was definitely NOT cheaper than heroin...
