Lara: The wreckage should be just on the other side.
Zip: I can't see anything. You sure you're in the right spot?
Lara: I never forget a face.
Once again we find ourselves on the mountain without climbing gear
and I dought any of that snow and ice is stable.
you should keep moving before it breaks on you!
Zip: Not to rub it in, but i'm glad i'm at home!
Lara: Lovely zip. that's quite enough of that.
Zip: sorry
:)
Best track in the game, and one of the best tracks in any video game. Super chill, no frills no nonsense. Beautiful work.
I love every Tomb Raider games' OSTs but Angel of Darkness and Legend had the *best* of 'em all, without a second thought.
Back from the time when they knew how to make exciting Video Game Music.... :(
I partially can agree with you, but there is one game that nailed it with the soundtrack - Witcher 3, if you don't know about the ost, please check it out, it's very atmospheric, especially Skellige
One of the most defining games of my childhood, and a truly, truly memirable soundtrack. One of the greatest I've heard in video games. I bow my hat off to you, Troels!
The Celtic song that's been cited in Legend is called Alain Duein (Dark Haired Alan). It's about a woman who wants to reunite with her significant other, which is pretty fitting considering the theme of the Crystal Dynamics trilogy.
I think new games are nothing like Legend,Anniversary or Underworld, and still they're OK but what lacks is this music Legend or previous games had and I don't feel like part of game nore I'm moved by whole experience new games offer us.They tried with some past "family" cinematics but it's the music that makes the atmosphere and significant difference.
Tomb Raider nasceu em 1996 e infelizmente morreu em 2008, a partir dai nunca mais tivemos um Tomb Raider de verdade.
They should maybe make remakes of the classics like anniversary did instead of making the new weird games where lara is a hunter and such things. ..
@@rabbijacoobbenjaminisraelb7095 Yeah all first five original games need remakes but they're too busy turning TR into yet another "go here do this go there shoot shoot kill kill" game.
@@toprak3479 and hunt! don't forget that! thats a thing in all games nowadays but im not sure it really fits to lara croft. . . Also its first six games. i think a Decent completed Angel of Darkness game perhaps even with current graphics and all that would be quite enjoyable. Anyway they should support things like Tomb rader Dagger of Xian instead of make weird average games, that you have through in a few hours.
My favorite Tomb Raider game just for atmosphere.
Zip: “Urgh, this must be where Santa’s evil brother lives....”
Ailien Duinn, Thank you Lara for this beautiful gift
Every time it snows I listen to this ♥️♥️♥️
"Okay, be careful. You know this thing can go off the cliff any second."
"I knew it then, and I know it now. I'll be fine, Zip. Don't worry." :')
Imagine you're at a monastery in himalayas and this song started playing
this track is truly a work of art
good rock climbing music in my opinion
Nepal 1 and 2 were on loop when I was hiking up the summit of Mount Kinabalu in Malaysia 6 years ago.
Cool bass groove
One of the best ever soundtracks in a video game ever. Tomb Raider Legend's music and microscoring are out of the world. I wish Troels Folmann and Gustavo Santaolalla team together for some epic, legendary and one of its kind game music. Love the "Last of Us" soundtracks too. Hats Off to both Troels Folmann and Gustavo Santaolalla.
i love this track even though its in another language. i don't care what language its in i still like it. and the game itself it is great.
"I never forget a face..."
@@E-D-i-T-0-R If I recall correctly, it was a metaphor to describe the crash site, because as a child she survived a plane crash in that exact same place. Basically she recognised where she was.
@@E-D-i-T-0-R it’s a play on words - the side of a mountain is referred to as the mountain face, but she uses the expression “I never forget a face” which is commonly an expression used when someone has a good memory for remembering human faces :)
TR:AOD and Legend = best soundtracks of all time
Legend was great man, while the other and older games can shine without music, just the creepy ambience of the core games and anniv. is enough for me, but Legend is such a good exception, kinda forget some of the music was dynamic in this too. Nepal is easily my favorite level in the series alone just for it's atmosphere
That throat singing though
If you like throat singing, may i suggest check out the video: Huun-Huur-Tu - Live Berkely ua-cam.com/video/i0djHJBAP3U/v-deo.html
Especially the 3rd song Chirraa Khoor, my favorite one
Parts of this song was used in the
Tomb Raider ( Angelina Jolie) movie.
@@III_SNIPE_IIIcorrect! Troels said that he used elements from both movies with Angelina
Brings back memories...
I remember I was in band an I played part of the theme in class and everyone went crazy.
Superb track ! I've got chills
Those background vocals.
Simply beautiful~
The kind of song im listning to in sleep. Not only it brought back the memories when i first played this TR but the song is just so relaxing and beautiful, makes me imagine all the impossible i can do before my body shut down and rest.
Once again, we find ourselves on a mountain without climbing gear.
Why so little views..?!
Whilst Nepal was never my favorite level, I only came to enjoy it after replaying it whilst searching for all the rewards. Thanks to the theme, esp parts 1, 6 & 7 I enjoy the level even more so.
Just goes to show how much music plays an important role in games.
The background theme, thats definitelythe exact sample i heard in a Homm 4 battle theme.
And it's also used in the Age of Empires 2 soundtrack.
Something satisfying about games from the 2000s, you hear these cool samples that you recognize.
2020, in quarentine ♥️
Cool! It's nice to know that people still apreciate this soundtrack.
Gosh i love this track
Hanging around at some icicles.
Anyone who likes this should check out Terra Firma (Lara's Mix) by Delerium.
So blissful
J'adore
PSP tomb raider brought me here 🥺
Eidos owns this song, and all licensing thereof...
Does anyone know if the throat singing is a sample or if it was recorded for the game ost?
It might be a sample the throat singing. The female vocals in this track are also a sample from an original Gaelic song called “Ailein Duinn”.
The main menu theme also used samples of “Ave Maria”.
ooooooohhheeeeeeeeeyyyoooooooeee....
...mash & chips...
My favorite~!
The voice looks really like the voice from the game chaos legion ost named '' I can hear the shriek ''
Mi infancia
Nur schönheit :)
the first voice is tuvan human voice from spectrasonic omnisphere vst library?
Can someone make an extended version of this?
Press play, then press repeat.
Favorito
Are you ok? Lara?
Amazing
I love it 3
i hate tomb raider 2016 and rise of the tomb raider because they destroyed the lore while Lara was 22 years old she was on her first adventure yeah, of course, pulls out tomb raider 4 we never forget Lara croft being younger on her FIRST adventure
What about TR 1 Very First adventure??? In '96. Then 2, then 3. I never forgot.
@@snow-wlkr7xplorer494 4 introduces us to a 16 years old lara off in columbia with von croy as her first adventure
After I finished the game with my sister, we emailed Troels to ask him what the instrument was that is used in the soundtrack. He wrote back and turns out it was throat singing! A human made that sound and it completely blew my mind back then and my sister was right! We both ended up learning some basics on the singing and we can both do it amateurly. This music and the game defined my late teen and awesome gaming experience with y sister. So much emotions. Few years later I joined a choir and I got picked as a soloist to perform the throat singing because I was the only one that could do it. And it all came from this piece of art. Grateful.
Amazing story!
@Archit misal yes he did! We were super honoured!
@@shaney_haro thanks! 😊
Woah, tr legend gives the most beautiful stories in our life
Mongolian throat singing is sick!
