This is fantastic and really impressive. Such an incredible soundscape from the tape machines. (As an aside I thought I recognised that building style. I did some work in Glasgow years ago, installed the stained glass window at old Boots Corner at Argyle Street's junction with Union Street and Jamaica Street KFC now I think. The team I ran loved the place) Anyway enough of that really lovin this soundscape.
@@lukejay____ I really enjoyed my short stay in Glasgow. I was with a team from Germany and they wanted to sample the delights of Whiskey. Who was I to stop them! Some crazy nights I can tell you. Again this is so good really enjoying listening.
wait, since the fourtrack is not recording the inputs from the other cassette players are you just using it to mix the other cassette players(but the fourtrack is also playing an additional layer)? i am confused, but who cares---this is beautiful.
Best tape work I'v heard inn a wherry wherry loong time, if ever. Anyway, this looks like Glasgow to me, but I suppose it could be almost any other British town as people are driving on the wrong side of the street. The name Cairo Dr lead me to this: "www.imdb.com/title/tt0042298/"
So so pretty
this needs more recognition, such a beautiful and transcending track
Thank you !
This is incredibly stunning. Benoit Pioulard vibes. Respect!
I see what you meant with the 4 cassettes now! This one is probably my favourite, really beautiful and deep work
Yeah it's easier to see than explain; but thanks for the kind words! I like this one a lot too
Nostalgic and evocative, this one can lasts forever and still be impressive.
Thank you so much; that’s a really great compliment to receive 💜

Loving the sounds on this track. Nice work luke

Stunning. Would you be open to the idea of an interview for a tape recording enthusiast blog?
Hi there! Yes of course, if you want to get in touch we can go from there! My email is on my UA-cam profile
Lovely soundscapes. I thought to my self, nice tenement building just like in Glasgow, and then checked out your location.
Nice work.

Analog tape worked fine for Brian Eno...and he invented ambient.
Sweet ❤ I’d love to hear this against other video footage. Cheers. Lee

Lovely .. do you record this into a daw for uploading sounds to platforms ?
Excellent set and sounds.
Lush sounds. An antidote to the creeping dread and horror of the events depicted in the series.
Wonderful piece 😊

Very Brian Eno. ;)
Always a pleasure 🕶

Thank you! I am not familiar with their work I’ll have to a listen
Wow that’s was beautiful
Great piece - inspires me to work with tape :)
I’d definitely recommend it; doesn’t have to be expensive to give it a try!
game changer
Sounds great. Gotta try that definitely. Did you do all the reverb in the Digitone?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How
This is bloody lovely, you got insta?
Thank you. Yes; I’m @lukejay____ (four underscores)
I love it :)
Great stuff! I feel like I am under-utilizing my 414.
I feel I under-utilise pretty much all the gear I have 🤷🏻♂️ not enough hours in the day
@@lukejay____ tell me about it 🙃
So, are you using the Elektron Digitone...or would that be too "high-tech?"

Everything was pre-recorded onto the four-track and this performance was me riding the faders in playback!
please get on bandcamp!
Coming soon!
@@lukejay____ if you sell some on cassette I'll love you forever
Great stuff! How did you record those 4 cassettes?😇
Output of the Digitone into the input of the marantz pmd-221 and then just put the cassettes into the four players!
Blicero okay thanks!😎
