it makes sense that diablo in this anime is the type of person who doesn't really care too much about his demon king title because he himself knows that there is someone who is much stronger than him,but it's the people around him who exaggerate his strength even though diablo is strong but he's still self-aware
I agree though, it make him like in a situation like Ainz who is just an ordinary guy in his real self but he has to make a persona to make them think he is the strongest. But in this case Diablo definitely knew who's stronger than him and who's not, if he's making a persona like he can just defeat them while in other timeline he faces them. He's the one who's getting beaten up so yeah.. he needs to break her with the reality
I wish we had clips documenting what guy crimson got up to pre series. Like ,he got summoned to wipe out a country, did it with one spell, then wiped out his summoners country because the summoner,the king of that country, disrespected him (did was edmaliss tier dumbass),with one more spell. Then he chose his own name (unclear if that powered him up) , fucked around for a while, went back to the countries he destroyed and started living in the castle, got challenged by velzard, and had a battle with her that CHANGED THE TILT OF THE GOD DAMN PLANET ,AND ONLY AFTER IT TILTED DID HE AWAKEN HIS ULTIMATE SKILL. he made peace with velzard,the continent the destroyed countries were on is now the north pole, and now hes evil Santa. Again,this dude fought a true dragon well enough to change the tilt of a planet with aftershocks, and most of the fight was without and ultimate skill and a very real possibility of veldanava dampening the effects of the aftershocks.
Don't forget his name Guy (Pronounced Ghe) was only chosen because it was the sound people made as they died and he liked that... He named himself after the sound people make as they die... He is that Guy.

And these countries were said to be more advanced than any currently existing ones
Just wait until they find out that four of them work for Rimuru and that Rimuru (according to the Web Novel) surpasses the Creator who is the Oldest True Dragon
