You got a point there with CB300x . They should have launched it with adventure/Sport Tourer avataar. Although I think what Honda may thought that they could capture average 150cc user looking for an "upgrade in power displacement without having to change riding style "so more power in same package as their convenient hornet style package. People do not like changes so Honda got that right. But I don't know why they overlooked the scenario of market. FZ25 is great machine and was launched on similar grounds ,failed. Gixxer 250 again great bike, failed. But Retro styled RE Clasic or CB250 highness or Jawa or Himalayan is pulling great numbers. Why? My take would be reason is simple. People who want to upgrade, who are spending 2.5L on motorcycle would want something different than normal 150cc segment. They want it look different, feel different. Hence FZ16 worked but FZ25 couldn't and same for Gixxer 250.

Spot on comment, the numbers suggest it's cb300x rather than this f. It's a daily bike for weekend rides on the twisties. Touring meh I guess, with no proper mid to top end. Honda already has cb350, so they cant price near to that, so they priced with 25k extra, which I feel is similar in performance for an average commuter. Looking at the figures surely it's a city bike and an occasional highway bike. To give honda the benifit it could have been around 2.1lac or undercut the cb350. For the 300x if you launch 10-15 k extra it'll be pointless. It's having good features, but somehow, cb350, vstrom 250 make better options. Although I need to ride it to think about this. In any case if D400's weight and over the top fugly design was not the case it would have been a master class. In the end if if choose it, I'll blame Honda! 😅

If one has to ride in city without too many gear changes one can go for TVS ronin, the most easy and fun to ride in city, if one needs a street fighter to ride in city and little bit on highways with a talking engine one can go for fz25, why to spend 75 to 90000 rupees extra and for what hornet 300, and if one has around 3 lakhs of rupees why not he will go for dominar 400 KTM 250 vstrom 250,
