The footsteps are heard through the vocal mics they are using so you can actually audibly pinpoint where each person is standing and stomping. The dancEAR concept is a stripped back version of the song, no backing track, just the instrumental and their live voices, with the use of multiple very sensitive microphones that are meant to pick up, well, just about everything and give the listener a 'spatial' sound experience. Sometimes the accusation of lip-syncing can taint a group. Dreamcatcher does use backing tracks, but not as much or as heavily as most groups. For those of us who have been with Dreamcatcher for a while, we have no question about their talents. Groups often have roles assigned to each member (i.e. Main Vocalist (Does most of the singing), Lead Vocalist (2nd in line for singing), Rapper (obviously does the Rap and sometimes doesn't sing), and so on). While Dreamcatcher does have a Main Vocalist (Siyeon), all 7 members are extremely talented singers and easily hold their own against anyone. Dreamcatcher: 1 main vocalist, 6 other main vocalists. You could also get a taste of their live vocals through the "It's Live" recordings, but those are often blocked by UA-cam, so it would require a screen filter or just a Patreon request.
