    Three 4 Star songs charted, not one. I wish history would get it right. 41 songs total? More like 102.

    To think we get to play and hear the voice of a woman that has gone down in history as one of a kind. No one will ever equal or come close to the talent Patsy Cline had. We here in 2018 get to hear her voice as she sings numerous songs. I was blessed to hear her music first hand even though young. I was born in 1957 and was exposed to her from that point on. I had parents that played several types of music letting us make our own choices. 2018 finds me still so in love with the voice from a woman from Winchester Virginia. Virginia Patterson Hensley made history!

    NPR asked the question what would have happened had Patsy lived. Well, in my alternate universe I see her racking up hit after hit, divorcing Charlie because he could not come to terms being Mr. Patsy Cline. I see her becoming a multimillionaire, starting her own record label and still be the first female inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame. I see her finding Mr. Right and marrying him while she and Charlie settle their differences and become friends. Sadly, that plane crash ended her life and stellar career. It is still heartbreaking after all these years.

    Her plane didn't crash into a hill. The pilot wasn't instrument rated to fly in poor visibility and lost control due to spatial disorientation and crashed into a wooded area off Highway 70.

    Patsy absolutely hated " I Fall To Pieces" at first. It sounded too pop for her. She told Owen Bradley the only way she would do it is if it was the B-SIDE of a song she liked better. It was a remake of her very first single back in 1955 " A Church, A Courtroom and Then Goodbye". Bradley finally got her to do it when she found out " I Fall To Pieces" was written by Harlan Howard and Hank Cochran. The song became her first million seller and first #1.

    • @Patsyclinefan1
      @Patsyclinefan1  4 роки тому +1

      Jerry Brownell Patsy never remade “A Court, A Courtroom and Then Goodbye”. The song she recorded, that was the b-side to “I Fall to Pieces” was “Lovin’ In Vain”, which was written by Freddie Hart of “Easy Lovin’” fame. Also technically by sales numbers, “Walkin’ After Midnight” was her first million seller, but was not awarded a Gold Disc due to Decca not auditing Country catalog sales during that time.

      @@Patsyclinefan1 - I went to Patsy Cline discography on Wikipedia and you are right. As far as her remaking or re-recording certain songs I know some were later re-released on compilation albums. I know Patsy only had 3 studio albums and was working on her 4th when she died. I have read countless articles and stories and viewed countless UA-cam videos on Patsy and I am sure I heard my account somewhere. Of course I am not sure the source was accurate. And upon further recollection maybe the song I read about being what Patsy wanted for the A- side to I Fall To Pieces was A Poor Man's Roses. Anyway I apologize for my original comment. I have 77 of Patsy's songs on 3 CD's I made and eventually I will have everything she ever recorded. Thanks for allowing me to ramble on like this and thanks for being a die hard Patsy Cline fan.

    Una singular y bella voz a la cual supieron encontrarle las composiciones adecuadas a su estilo personal, su espiritualidad cautivadora y esos sostenidos vocales descendentes cargados de un erotismo al que nadie podia escapar ileso. Si escuchabas una sola nota interpretada por ella, podias considerarte ya para siempre, un esclavo feliz de sus interpretaciones.
