- MasterCard ad from way back when the "priceless" stuff hadn't been worn threadbare yet. It's a baseball-oriented ad and in this case airing during a baseball game.
This spot aired during the 5th game of the Baseball World Series on NBC on October 23rd, 1997.
Some commercials become timeless classics for a few. This one, in particular, holds a special spot for me.
I sometimes wonder about the reaction in the boardroom when the guy who came up with this slogan said it out loud for the first time.
I love these commercials and I'm binging through them right now, but I have to admit that while watching this one I was thinking "$18 for two hot dogs, drinks, and popcorn *at a ball park*?! That's adorable."
And affordable. Screw inflation.

Yall are forgetting that in 1997 minimum wage was at 5.15 and an average wage for starting jobs for most Americans without a degree or trade was 5.15 to 7.25 an hour.
