- Since it's getting close to Halloween and I haven't shared any content on here in months, I figured I would share this short film, in which I played Dracula, back in college.
"Dark Relations" (2014)
Written & Directed by David Cinella
Cast:
Dracula - Anthony Vasquez
Mina - Adele Thurston
Girl - Nicole Therese Aboujaoude
I was actually cast in this short under pretty crazy circumstances. I was actually not the director’s first choice for the role, but on the day of the shoot, the actor who was cast suddenly threw a hissy fit and stormed out, forcing me to take his place! We were on a tight schedule and had to finish shooting that same day. And due to the sudden cast change, I was very unprepared. I had read the script only once before the shoot and I had to keep calling for the lines. I also spoke in my regular voice - albeit in a slow, quiet manner - to avoid coming off as a cheap Bela Lugosi mimic. But thankfully, the director understood and was very patient with me, and the actress playing my bride was a big help. Even though I was cast under crazy circumstances, I am grateful I got the chance to play such an iconic character in what was one of my very first roles. Enjoy the video and let me know what you think! 🧛♂️🎥🎞🦇
I really enjoyed it!!! Great job for everyone!!!!
Thanks a lot. It was really challenging and stressful. But hey, I got to play the monarch of all vampires and act alongside a beautiful actress as my bride! 😁
I enjoyed it very much. You were very good esp. with so little rehearsal time . I didnt care for the ending but hey, it' was a school production.
The young lady who played Mina, Adele Thurston , I was impressed with how cool and calm and sexy she was in the line delivery. Thanks for the video.
Thanks very much. Adele did a really great job and helped me a lot through the shoot. I really enjoyed working with her. She was very sexy... and a great kisser. 😁
Mina is a vampire, right?
In this short, she is.
Nothing is worse then immortality mixed with a dysfunctional relationship 🧛🧛🦇🦇⚰️⚰️🪦🪦
Very true.
