When you think of a bucket list airport to plane spot at, Sydney Airport definitely makes this list. Sydney Airport is the busiest airport in Australia and quite frankly Oceania. It is the gateway into Australia, leading the way with daily movements and passenger movements during a typical year in the country. Featuring a strong variety of aircraft, from the narrowbodies such as the 737s and A320s, to the widebodies of the jumbo 747s and A380s, with large intakes of the up and coming 787s and A350s!
This video was filmed all over the place from as many different plane spotting locations and focuses on the awesome night takeoff rush.

How are you showing QF99 B747 when Qantas has already retired all 747s and there has not been any take off tonight with a 747 and no QF99?
Some of the clips are old
@@user-lw4lw8sf5w thanks. I mistook it for a live session
@@user-lw4lw8sf5wSeveral years old.
The footage of the 747 was taken in 2019
I already this video was taken earlier from the Qantas 747-400
I dont think I ever uploaded this footage before
@@HDMelbourneAviation nonono you never uploaded this footage before but this video was taken earlier as the Qantas 747-400 is already retired
Is no one going to mention Samoa Airlines 737 departure? Never seen footage of that in SYD. Only operated for a limited amount of time
Stopped before Covid, I think.
Still so glad I managed to get it. My one and only piece of footage that I got of it. Did you manage to catch it Sam?
@@HDMelbourneAviation never, my first Sydney visit was during covid
@36:16 can’t even see the paint -chips from here? 😜😜

Qantas 747? wtf
Filmed in 2019 😁
How old is this footage? Qantas isn’t flying the 747-400 anymore. There is no QF99 regular flight to LA nor a night departure to LA. In addition, Samoa Airlines stopped flying from before COVID and AWK is called Aerowork now, not Parcelair. Japan Aurlines hasn’t been at SYD at night for quite a few years. Tiger Air no longer exists. Not cool that you are giving us such old footage.
You’re saying it like a bad thing lol. I enjoyed this so much more then if it were more recent footage. How cool to see the QF 747 flying in memory. I’m a big fan of his work and it’s not like it’s been uploaded before so what’s the problem? I don’t see him saying anywhere that this was filmed recently either or trying to pass this off as recently filmed footage. Upload date and record date are 2 different things. Sit back and enjoy the video instead of complaining about it
Sorry you feel that way. The footage was filmed between 2019-2023 and combined together. Half the video was filmed during and before covid. I find it incredibly difficult to keep the video diverse with the current Sydney night departure rush. A lot of my videos are filmed over the course of a few trips to keep the angles/variety interesting. Hope you enjoy the next one more!
Yes, editing this was bliss. Amazing to relive the QF 747s and airlines that were again. Glad you’re loving the content and you’ll see plenty more blasts from the past in future uploads!
Thanks for replying. I wasn’t the only one who commented on the age of some footage. My comment came from the fact that most other ‘flights at airports’ UA-cam videos are streams from a particular day. Personally, I’m more of a fan of airlines, flight details and destinations rather than aircraft in watching these videos. Looking at the title of this video, I acknowledge that you didn’t state that the content was from a particular recent day. It seems that your videos are generally montages of a range of airport visits that can go back several years. It could be good to make that clear but I do now understand that.
I couldn’t agree more, I’m a bigger fan of watching the airlines, destinations and such over a broadcast with commentary! I do think the livestream stuff is making things confusing for sure! I usually put in the descriptions that rough date of filming when it’s not recent but I completely forgot on this one 😅 I realised only before when I looked at the description again
