There is no free, it is paid for by something else.
I only play in the cloud, currently have GFN Ultimate, Boosteroid and X Box Ultimate. They are used in that order on either my abxylute handheld or my really old laptop. Gladly pay, don't want ad's.
Is your boosteroid ultimate tier? If yes - how its running and how far you are from the servers? I have the other 2 too, but Im very close to the gforce now servers so its run like a dream, but xbox ultimate is kinda far so the quality is far from the best.
@alexforce9 Just the standard tier for boosteroid. Don't use it enough to warrant the extra cost (yet) . XCloud was awful in the app but on a browser it's a lot better.
It's true that nothing is free. However, if game companies are asking gamers for money, they need to provide value.

Long-term commitals cost less. Also, if they own the compute, it's cheaper for them (less overhead).
Apparently the cloud service you looked at charged more for 1070 than 3080? Also, cloud providers use enterprise GPUs to split the VMs to reduce costs even further (economy of scale by splitting bigger computers)
Yes this was very high level overview of how cloud gaming hardware works - especially for the general consumer. There are no exact costs here. Things could be higher or lower. Most likely lower for long term commitments like Nvidia probably has. Many people I talk to don't understand why cloud gaming costs money. I send them here.

Agree its like comparing to renting vs buying a house. Both got different pros and cons. If you buy the house you always have it. However you are responsible for the maintaince yourself. If you however you rent it. The one who you rents it off is responsible for the maintainces

I am an Asian and for an average person, buying the highest premium package of NVIDIA GeForce Now costs a lot of money and is almost impossible to purchase. I wonder if the cost of this package is also significant compared to the income earned in European and American countries.
It's like $20 a month over here. Basically, if you can refrain from smoking 2 of your blunts per month, you can afford it.

Free Tier should be a test feature... they could just offer 1 hour or so to test to see if your connection is good enough and then you should pay for it... or at least give a discount to test the service.. that's my opinion
I do agree with having an discount, cause at least that is an attractive bargain.
A discount is more viable. That's why Boosteroid and OnePlay offer discount codes at times.
