  • For the first video of 2022. I will show you how to modify one of the default OSC scripts so the final stack doesn't happen. Then by changing the working directory in SIRIL to the process folder. You can search for the Sequences that the Script made and pick the r-pp-light.seq. This loads that sequence and you can then select the Plot function to look at the FWHM graph. This will tell you where you can start rejecting bad frames in the Stacking function. This has been working very well with my iffy data by letting me select where to start rejecting and how to reject bad frames from the final stack.
    Thanks for watching...

@@jeffrh It will. I have already created the modified preprocess script...Not hard to follow. I will take my time with actual data. It should help greatly in cleaning out my data.

Dan That means you had better seeing at the end of that session. What I like about looking at the FWHM Plat is you know what you have for data. Being able to pick where to reject is huge for the final results.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for the helpful video. I am having trouble loading a new scrip into SiriL; I am using a Mac. I went to the Burger Menu in the top right and selected "Get Scripts". Then I selected a script, and downloaded it to my computer. From there I can't figure out how to get it into a folder so SiriL will locate and use the script? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

W Brock... On Windows, scripts need to be in the Siril, Scripts folder. I have never used a MAC and am afraid this is a little out of my wheel house. This is just a guess, Look for the Siril program folder and if you open it. There might be a Scripts folder there. This would be where to add the scipt you would like to use... I could be totally out to lunch too... ;-) Best I can do.

@@jeffrh Jeff H, Thank you. I finally got the script into the script folder, but it still failed to process... Not sure what I am doing wrong. But I will keep trying when I have more time to learn the process. I appreciate your training! Take care.

@@wbrock6301 Siril needs to know where the Home directory is to run things correctly. On the top left of Siril you will see a Blue Home button. Select that and point to the Siril Folder. Then the scripts will run. You calibration frames and lights need to be in the Home directory in folders with the following names. Biases, Flats, Darks, and Lights. You put the files into the correct folder and then you can run the script. If you have done this correctly. Siril will run the script and finish depending on the script you ran. Have fun, it's great program.
