Hi Robert, Inspiring as always! Could you make a video (or briefly cover this in one of the videos) on how you prepare your sounds from raw recordings to being ready to work in a DAW. How many takes of one sound you make. Do you stop recording in between takes, or just do like a 30 min of continuous recording and then cut it in a DAW. How and when you cut (in field and in studio). Do you keep all sounds raw on your hard drive, or processed, or both. And how you sort your sound into a library on your hard drive. Small things like this.
Hi Robert I don't have the 'film' preset category in my Komplete bundle - are you using the larger bundles like ultimate or collectors maybe? Thanks for the video.
Try reinstall TRK1, i have full komplete and the presets are there, i did my tweaking the way i like to sound, but the original preset is sound really god.
I watched this video two times, second time to learn from it while doing in TRK-01 what Robert does and exploring related stuff myself. This is so much to learn from this video! E.g. going with TRK-01 on slow tempos (50-60bpm). Or using own field recordings as a background to e.g. TRK-01. I noticed Robert uses v1(.?) of TRK-01 which has slightly different presets and sounds than currently available v1.1.1. E.g. there is no preset "Morden" in v1.1.1. And I don't have that sub waveform sample Robert has in preset "Boom". I searched for those older presets, but didn't find them. If someone can share them, please PM me. .
Awesome video as always! I would love to have a mixing/mastering video from you. I always find it hard toput the kick and bass -just right- in the mix, without it getting too much rumble. What tips and tricks do you have?
antefjante your Kick drum (sample) or (synth patch) will fight frequencies with the bass (sample) or (synth patch) because they live in the same frequency spectrum. Meaning say you have a kick drum on every quarter note, The body and the low-end of the kick drum (sample) or (synth patch) say lives in 80hz on your frequency analyzer, you pull up a bass patch and the bass you are using is using the same frequency’s 80hz as the kick. Your speaker is going to have problems reproducing the waiver form because they are trying to reproduce the same frequency is at the same time hence why it sounds “muddy” or clogged. Typically you want two steps, first think if you want your baseline to live in the lower frequency spectrum and have your kick drum in the 80hz realm and leave your bass in the sub frequencies (30-50) or whatever. Or vice a versa. Give everything space and it will sound clean. Hope this help!
Thanks alot Anthony! And what about using a sidechain effect to the kick. Will the frequencys still interfere each other even tho the kick pushes the gain down on the bassline?
antefjante “ducking of course will always be helping. You could either use it as a pumping affect or a very subtle, frequency Ducker for the kick to shine. May I ask what genre of music you are producing? I would say sidechain of course, but where fundamentally matters the most in my opinion is what frequencies are your bass and kick living in. If you decide to have a very low end kick drum, then have your baseline in the 80-100 hertz area and have only your kick in the sub frequencies. You have to realize that frequencies all that is is your speaker going in and out so fast so if your speaker is trying to produce similar frequencies it’s not going to sound very good. So I say of course use side chaining only as a dynamic controller and focus on your Kik and bass drum Eqing the freqs. Along time ago I used to just Write kick and bass patterns just to EQ them to finally understand how to make them live together and breeze together. Hope this helps!
Thanks again for a great answer Anthony! About what genre i am producing, i have been all over the place, everything from hip hop, to dubstep and film music. I work alot with the low end but i never seem to find that "golden spot" where it sounds good on all speakers!
Dziękuje Panie Robercie za intrygujące wideo!
:-)

Por lo que veo exportas el audio al secuenciador del anfitrión para montar las partes
Sounds great 👍
Awesome!
