I haven't seen someone mount a 3.5" HDD like that before so thumbs up for ingenuity. I was thinking I could use double sided tape to stick a drive to the back of the PSU but yeah your method works too. Great video
Thanks for the kind words, I was thinking of double sided tape before for HDDs but this was in particularly heavy and the back didn't have enough space for one. Thanks for dropping by!
@@skytreegirl6929 I see nothing wrong with a 3.5" HDD in 2022. It is cheap and runs for my needs. I'm not made of money and this build was within a certain budget. All my PC's I have sold have 3.5" HDDs and my customers don't see anything wrong with a 1TB HDD. Thanks for watching and input
@@RiceTech1 i think this is a "ignorance is bliss" situation. I was like you once with a hdd. One day I got an m.2 ssd and now ill never go back to a hdd as its so slow in comparison and makes extra noise. Sure its cheaper but I'd rather skip a few meals to save up for one. Just my 2 cents n' a nickel is all
@@skytreegirl6929 There is a Samsung SSD in this build, the 2TB HDD was around $50 and to get a 2TB SSD is around +$300. I built this in a budget for my brother and the HDD performs well for holding media and games. Thanks for clarifying, appreciate it. I'll be dropping a video soon if you're interested to see my personal build.
what a charming, well made, and informative video. Excellent work, this style of build is right up my alley and fills a niche in the sffpc community of budget builds that are space efficient. Thanks for taking the time to record, edit, and upload this video. I look forward to more.
Thanks so much for those kind words, really appreciate the comment 😁. I wish that were true but that's the plan and hopefully someday, and when I reach that goal I can look back at this comment☺️
Nice effort. I have an i5 10500 Hackintosh un this magnificent case, so far sooo goood....😁Like for the vid. Only cable management seems to me a bit lousy ❤
Thanks for leaving a comment. Appreciate the positive criticism, always looking on how I can improve. Sounds like you've got a great little build too! Thanks for the like😁
I love the Cougar QBX. You did an excellent job on this budget build. Looks nice and clean! Maybe add a cover to that hdd so you don't see that silver top, it's a bit of a sore spot on an otherwise beautiful build.
Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you liked the build and enjoyed the video. You're right, a cover on the HDD would make it look cleaner, great tip, I actually did that on my 2.5" HDD in my personal build because you can see it through the side panel. I didn't bother with this one because with the side panel on you can't really see it at all but nevertheless a great point. 😁
Thanks for leaving a comment, from what I remember the PC didn't overheat when it was used, I took the HDD bracket off the side of the mesh panel which definitely helped with the thermals, hence why the HDD is mounted on by the PSU 😁 There weren't too many air restrictions as I felt the warm air coming out the back with that exhaust fan but adding top exhaust fans will help and/or bottom intakes which I obviously didn't. If you have any more questions feel free to flick me a message on the IG account and I can help you there as well 😊 Thanks for leaving a comment 😁
Hello, thanks for leaving a comment 😊. No the HDD had no issues whatsoever, it's mounted the same orientation as some servers mount their HDDs so I wasn't worried. Feel free to leave any other questions 😁
You don't see that often a budget ITX build that has detected graphics. The build looks nice. The case reminds me of NR200 in how the components are organised.
Haha thanks for leaving a comment. Yeah it looks like the NR200, that's a good case and hope I can build in it someday. The NR200 is around the same size too I think maybe😁.
Very nice build. I like small form factors like itx but prices for mobo itx are high I would like to find LGA1200 itx in good price because that case looks very good.
Hello, thanks for watching and the kind words. Yeah, ITX motherboards are pretty expensive. The case looks really nice and small, more importantly not expensive😁
Saw the motherboard before on AliExpress. Am thinking of picking up one and the Silverstone SG-13 for a console emulator build (mainly PS1 and PS2 emu). Not sure about which graphics card I'm going with. Maybe a RX 570. Maybe a GTX 1050 Ti. Or even a GTX 1650 if I could find one used for a good price.
That sounds like a good plan you've got. The motherboard is serving my brother well you this day, it's a pretty good deal in my opinion. Hopefully you can find a good GPU for a good price, let me know how it goes 😄. Over worked in that case before, a really good care for the price used a RX 580 sapphire and it just fit. Thanks for leaving a comment, hopefully see you in a future video, I have more ITX content on the way😊
ps1 and ps2 You will emulate on igpu (I have i5-3320M on laptop and it works great) so check cpu with build graphic then You will decide to buy or spare money for gpu.
My case fan in the front started making noise so I wanted to replace it. What a pain in the ass it is - you have to remove the entire motherboard just to unscrew the bottom two screws. Ghastly.
Thanks so much, glad I was able to help, you'll definitely be able to fit more with this mod layout. Thanks for leaving a comment. Hope the build goes well, let me know how it goes!
@@RiceTech1 gonna be honest i actually like watching this video and always gives me another idea on how my cables will go but so far so good i should make a review my way i wonder..
Hello! From what I remember, the CPU and GPU never throttled while this was used in gaming. I think maximum was around 60-70 depending on the load, but that's from memory, it's been awhile so don't quote me on it haha. Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll try my best to answer them 😊
Hello, thanks for viewing and leaving a comment, I was wondering that at first but I did a stress test and I believe the max was around 80 degrees Celsius if memory serves me right. The i7 only has a TDP of 88 Watts so not too hot. Hope that helps😊!
Hello, no I didn't run into any issues at all with the mobo, this PC had been used almost everyday by my bro, it runs completely fine for his gaming needs. Thanks for leaving a comment and if you have any more questions I'd be happy to help. 😊

Yeah, AliExpress are quite good with their mobo deals. I bought 2 monks more for future videos and they're better than second hand because they're refurbished or new and depending on the seller has guarantee. Would you like a link to where I got the mobo?
Thanks for leaving a comment, it cost around 500 to 600 USD, can't quite remember the price and conversion from AUSD. Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be glad to respond 😊
I must say, that hdd mouting was 🤯
I've never thought it was possible to mount it this way
