Not only does the young musician play his instrument at a very high level, he knows a great deal about music and improvisation. He starts minimally and builds, with both players enhancing each other’s skills. Bravo!
the fact that i can just run across a couple of people employing great skill and intelligence in the pursuit of just having fun and making something lovely for others to listen to is what makes youtube and the internet as a whole worthwhile to me

No disrespect I just wonder if someone with Alzheimer’s could possibly think they were father gone than they actually were cause of hearing a song like this, could have equally and easily have been a beautiful moment like you described.
This is badass and so unique. Mixing genres like this is so cool. I don’t know if it’s Brazilian but that’s what it sounds like to me. Reminds me of when I jammed with my dad as a little boy, listening to him play piano. These sort of jams are the best, great bonding time. Glad you’re passing the gift of music to the next generation.

You are kind of implying that talented people are deserving, thus making untalented people undeserving. I think you maybe mistaken about talent being a gift from god. Try it out. Start learning a new skill and do one hour practise everyday for a month. I bet when you compare your ability from the first day to the last, there will be significant and noticeable improvement 👍 Then try getting an accordion (as long as you don't play it) and tell god you are deserving and without any practise play Take 5! I'm not a fortune teller, but it's not going to go well 🙀 However, i do agree very strongly with you about these people being 'artistically incredible'.

I like how the harmonic voice leading goes from basic to complex and back over the course of the performance. It lends a balance displaying both virtuosity and restraint that is rare to find. One of the best renditions of this tune I've yet heard.

I love this so much. I never had a relationship with my grandfather before he passed, him and my mother didn’t have the best relationship. They got closer when she got older. The last time I saw him I think I was six, we were at a funeral for my baby cousin. He had handed me a five dollar bill after and told me not to tell my brothers. I had it for a while. I think one of them took it haha. I miss him a lot. Wish I could remember everything.

This cover made my day -- scratch that -- it made my whole WEEK brighter because of the love and joy expressed here. A wonderful rendition of a universally beloved piece; any lack of technical skill or experience is completely overshadowed by the emotions of love between a father and son.

@@justadude641 nossa cara... que comentário infantil. Você tem muita pouca idade e / ou está incomodado com a vida, com o mundo, descontando onde pode. Não me conhece, não sabe de que tipo de música gosto, conheço... o comentário do rapaz acima foi muito mais inteligente que o seu. Quem não conheça Take Five poderia nem imaginar que a estrutura (veja, a estrutura) da música fora composta por americanos. O arranjo está brasileiríssimo. E outra, não tem nada de fácil. Colocar isso em seu comentário demonstra uma vontade de ser reconhecido por tocar muito bem, ou por conhecer muito de música, e não sê-lo. Você demonstra ser alguém frustrado com esse seu comentário. O meu foi feito por simplesmente ver um brasileiro dedicado ao jazz, um estilo musical que gosto, dominando-o e transformando-o, alguém que estuda, que inclui elementos da nossa música nele, e ainda mais, que leva essa herança tão rica aos mais jovens. Você precisa crescer e / ou se acalmar. Boa sorte.
