Up until this point I was 99% sure Mark and John were the same person. Both UA-camrs, both Irish, both had dreams of being a wrestler, both arguably have an unhealthy obsession with Dragon Ball. Now that I have seen them in a steam together, I am only 90% certain they are the same person.
Same it just makes me sad that I missed the original stream, had I known that egoraptor himself and the legend totally not mark would appear I would have hidden in the restroom at work to watch this
When I first heard Mark say he was irish I was really surprised, but hearing him going all out on the presence of John is really funny. The way our diction and general way of speaking changes depending on the time and place is extremely interesting, I pretty sure Mark deliberately makes his accent more neutral when narrating but he's genuinely great at masking it.

This reminded me of my S Ending run with Ragnavaldr. I ran into a bear trap like a dumbass in the route to Mahavre and I had otherwise just finished getting set up for my run. I had everything I needed to win so I said fuck it, tried to complete the run crawling, and I did it. Took me HOURS. It was intense.
When Mark mentions his father saying to not do Professional wrestling: i feel that we may not have context. I'm a huge wrestling fan. To the point that I would encourage my loved ones to never do it. The toll it takes on the body is immense. And a lot of wrestlers turn to substances to manage because "The show must go on." Not to mention seedy promoters and schools that take advantage of students. Yes, its SIGNIFICANTLY better now that it was 30 years ago, even 10 years ago- but its still not something I want a loved one to risk. I would 200% encourage my kid to be an actor, twitch streamer, even a stunt performer. But if they say a wrestler, I would also ask them not to and reconsider. If they still want to, I'll only support them as best as i can, but every show i will be dreading that phone call that something went wrong.

John, whatever your future wikipedia page may or may not say, i regularly have your voice in my head saying "that weird idea you just had to make somethin? go for it buddy" the garfield video is great of course. beyond that your passion for and honesty about the creative process is woven into the fabric of your work. i hope that's something you're remembered for someday, but either way it's having a real, positive impact on at least one person (i suspect a lot of people) working to establish their creative voice today

I've recently had to talk my partner out of thinking a video that got, like, 200,000 views in the first week was not a "failure" just because it didn't do as well as their studio's most successful video. A lot of stress gets put on creators by the logistics UA-cam offers and it's not healthy and it's not fair to do that to yourself.
