I’m all about learning here too. 😁 Exactly why I’m spending the time to go back & watch all your videos to see what your process & thoughts are. 👍🏼 Have a 98 Ranger 690VS I would like to completely go through. 😉
The joys of cutting into things. Never know what you will find when you start opening things up. Glad it ended up being a smaller area and not the whole front deck!
Great video. I replaced my entire front deck on my 95 champion. The entire deck was mush. Looked like mulch after I tore into it. I did the exact process you guys are using. It was gratifying when finished
I think I would remove the whole deck, and delete the forward live well. Raise it 2-3inches and extend the deck to the console. More storage and maybe a center rod locker. Hey it's not my time money.🤑
The only thing that i would do different would be to place the recessed trolling motor peddle box as far forward as possible. I have a 2010 Z21 with recassed peddle and being older i use my chair while fishing. It is not comforfable to use the tm while sitting besause it is too close to the seat. I had to move it forward about three inches for it to be easy and comfortable to operate. My buddy has a new 521 with the doal pedistal holes to address this and pla e the seat back further. I am 6'2" so that might be just me, but my buddy is shorter and he found the some to bd true.
Im lost why you would leave the old wood on that front deck. That wood is over 25 years old, and has been exposed to moisture no doubt about it. If you are already having to repair a large area, might as well just cut it out and replace the whole front deck, it’s not a very large deck to begin with.
How would YOU have cut out the front deck!?
