    In this video I introduce psychophysics and explain the difference between the absolute threshold and the difference threshold (or just noticeable difference). I also discuss the difficulties of measuring our sensitivity to stimulation and provide a simple demonstration of Weber's Law, which is that the difference threshold relates to proportions of change rather than amounts of change.

    Still helpful until this year, and for many more years to come. It reinforces learning as well, since the professor/lecturer is quite a looker. As a graduate student of clinical psych who is doing advanced readings and study, this video makes me more interested in this particular topic in Development of Psychological Thought. Thank you, @PsychExamReview

      @@alwaysbehappy3388 I don't have a specific textbook recommendation for methods in psychophysics, but for a more detailed course on sensation and perception, I really enjoyed Stuart Anstis's lectures from UCSD, available here: podcast.ucsd.edu/watch/wi12/psyc102wi12

    Hi! Do you know is there a possibility for human to become a cyclope in future and why do we have two eyes? My assignment is about this question and I would be very happy if you can answer. :)

    • @PsychExamReview
      @PsychExamReview  2 роки тому +1

      The main benefit of having two eyes (besides having a backup should one be damaged) is that it enhances our depth perception. I explain this in the later part of this video: ua-cam.com/video/Qr_yBDMd1Z8/v-deo.html
