      If you have the time to start back at vlog #1, you will see Mark helping, as well as Jess and Jack doing his electrical magic. When Sandi broke her leg, Mark ran the whole show (but didn't video much), for 6 weeks. He also helps by being her sounding board and moral support, which she mentions often. Plus you'll watch her grow and learn along with her. I am almost caught up to where I started watching regularly (#625). It's been really good to see the events that she refers to in the past.

    Sandi, there's always going to be keyboard experts who think they know what they are doing! You know your sheep better than any of us! You don't have to prove anything to anyone! I'm so glad the ewe is up and doing better! I've been thinking about her. You always do what's best! I'm glad you got the water lines figured out in the other barn. Mark is such a great helper. It looks so much better with the center lights working. I'm sure that will make things a little easier for you now that you can see more. Tell Mark to put the bill on your tab..lol That was so cool that the ladies came to shear the sheep! I think they did a great job! I love seeing the sheep right after they are sheared, they are so bright white. We are freezing here in Ohio! It's Sunday the 14th and it's 8F with the wind-chill it's negative 12! I hope you guys are staying warm! Stay blessed Sandi and Mark!!! I love you guys so very very much!!! 💖🥰❤️🤗🥶🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

      I agree! When people make suggestions on how to fix something when they don't have the info that you already tried it that hardly makes them a "hater"! People have gone overboard in using that term especially when it doesn't apply. I get tired of hearing that term thrown around. Sometimes, we are much too sensitive and hear criticism where there is none. I suppose that because I gave my opinion I am now a "hater".

    I love you, and am so happy that our Downed Ewe ahs regained her feet too! I think people forget that every animal in your care has a value monetarily, and every time you must treat them, dose them, shear them etc, their value actually goes down, sometimes drastically. This brave, beautiful ewe is not a dollar amount to you tho, she's a suffering, living being and you're lovingly trying to ease her pain and bring her back to health and happiness, because it is simply the right thing to do, regardless of the cost to get her on her feet.
    I can see that you do love all your sheep, with a few exceptions [ewes that hate their own lambs or the like] yet you still treat them well and with love and respect for their beingness.
    Congrats on a wonderful ending of a scary, sad story for you and our Ewe!

    Sandi don’t let the Monday morning quarterbacks upset you. We know that you’re doing the best you know how. And we see the compassion you have for your ladies. And while I was watching this video, you said I’m gonna give the mastitis patient some more painkiller. I can’t tell you how many times I have had professionals say to me after what other orthopedic surgeries I’ve had, I’m a klutz.
    If I ask for my pain medicine, five minutes too early, they said you can’t have it now it’s too early. And for you to actually go out of your way to make sure that the young lady with mastitis had some on board for her pain ever since you noticed there was a problem. You are an extremely caring person, which is a wonderful thing to be.Kathy

    So so happy to see the mastitis Mama better. Question: what will happen to her udder now? To see the inside workings of a farm is so interesting to me. The ending at the cozy cabin and Piper falling into bed…another day of her keeping tabs on things. Lol

    • @elainerempel1613
      @elainerempel1613 8 місяців тому +1

      The udder will not recover from gangrene. Sandi has succeeded in fending off sepsis & the ewe is exhibiting all the signs of healing: up on her feet, staying on her feet, drinking, eating, peeing, pooping. If you watch to the end of the vlog, Sandi tells us her lambs must have found ewes willing to share because they're not squawking ('chirping"). Sandi said the next time she sorts these ewes, this ewe will be culled & go to the sales barn . Sad but it's the cycle of life 💕💕

    It's great to see that poor sick ewe back on her feet and feeling feisty again. Even Piper took her warnings seriously. Great work Sandi! I've always wondered how much of the head butting that lambs and calves do to udders, contribute to the damage of lumps and mastitis.

    • @patpierce4854
      @patpierce4854 8 місяців тому

      I wondered about that, too. Mostly from extrapolating personal experience nursing my son; I bumped my chest into the corner of our coffee table, dodging a puppy underfoot, and my OB/GYN said that was likely what set me up for mastitis. Besides meds, I actually got a lot of relief from cabbage leaves applied topically (suggested by a midwife buddy). I know it’s normal for lambs, calves, and other baby mammals to bump their mama’s udder…. but it sure looks like the baby animals get pretty rough as they grow.
