They are informed by economic factors, Gauteng is the economic bulldog of Africa. More shopping malls are still needed to fully satisfy the Gauteng consumers

@@Sylvester826Who do you think will man the shops, restaurants and do construction for the new mall? They will need staff after it is built for every shop. The need for additional food, transport etc will stimulate the economy as a consequence. You need to stop thinking negatively about everything and change your perspective.

My favourite go to mall. You'll never find it too packed cause people wouldn't wanna drive that far especially from Soweto. So i love this mall for its peace 🥺🥺😍

These property developers must start thinking out of the box, these malls are too much now and they are not serving new customers, they are just cannibalizing off each other. With Amazon and chinese online platforms like Temu and Shein coming into the SA market a lot of these malls will not survive.

Johannesburg is the largest city in South Africa. With around 6 million people in the city and 11 million in the metro.
Cape Town has 4,5 million people.
