This movie was just... so beautiful. It was so calming and slow, yet somehow totally engrossing in a way that made it impossible to stop watching. This movie was beautiful, and helped me look at life, everyday life, in a completely different way.
Marcel made me feel empty. But in a strange, good way. He made me feel nostalgic and sad but happy. He made me miss the younger me. Back when I was a kid (I'm still a kid I'm 16 but still). He makes me wish I made happier memories for myself.
So, the distance from Marcel 1-2 was 1 year. The time distance of 2-3 was 3 years So it goes by odd numbers so Marcel 4 should come out in 2018 or 2019
I doubt it will again. Jenny Slate is the voice of Marcel. She and Dean-Fleischer Camp were married when this came out and they probably were either dating or knew each other when the first two came out. They got divorced from what I know, and unless it was mutual and they're still good friends, I can't see Marcel the Shell coming back. Sorry :(

Recently watched the movie, which brought back faint memories of being introduced to Marcel by my teacher in middle school! I always meant to watch it on my own time, but never got around to it. I did, however, attempt to make my own parody of it, at the suggestion of my teacher who asked some students if they’d like to make their own “Marcel the Shell” style characters. Mine was Flammer the Hammer, who wasn’t even a real hammer. Just a wooden square with an image of a hammer on it. I then just gave it wheels and eyes just because. Unfortunately my video… needed work…and the camera I used couldn’t connect to the computer, and it used tapes to record on. It was an attempt, but Flammer the Hammer has been shelved indefinitely… But years upon YEARS later… after graduating college and taking animation seriously (a bit too seriously now that I think about it) as well as videography, VFX, etc. but still learning and still very much a beginner in a lot of this stuff, I was blessed with rediscovering Marcel the Shell with shoes on…and that Dean, Jenny, and so many other wonderful people helped to bring this wholesome shell with shoes and a googly eye to life in his very own movie!!! And Dean? You all have helped inspire me to keep going and to pursue my dreams, but also to remember to stop and smell the roses, (and watch out for wandering shells and tennis balls!) Thank you Dean!!! Thank you Jenny! Thank you A24! Thank you everyone!!!!🥹🥹🥹💖💖💖
