Wish the county was full of people like Kerich
Fantastic discussion a real eye opener
Interesting insights on the Water Act; a conversation that definitely needs to be had. Once is never clear on which water authority is responsible for what. Management of water resources definitely needs to be looked at soberly as it can be quite emotive. Mr Kerich is also quite well spoken. Spice FM team, if you're having conversations on matters Nairobi City County, this is a good resource to bring.
Where is the list?
Nothing is impossible. That's the interpretation of the proverb
I got the impression it meant, you can do what you want and believe in the results. may even be enough for you but others have their tastes.
Even when every Human being says and almost affirms that the (Task, development, research, design, or whatever task) you want to try is impossible without them having proven that it cannot be achieved you should be persistent and do it, who knows, it might be the next big thing that changes the world in the toughest situation- My Interpretation of the proverb
If these corrupted individuals and the cheap politics in the county are uprooted, the county would be better... People are tired of being milked but zero services. Get your systems in order and people would be happy to their part.
interesting side topic on water, the spice team should investigate it further
WHAT ABOUT CORRUPTION? YOU CANNOT TAX KENYA S ONLY FOR POLITITIANS TO BUY CARS PLANES AND HOMES IN DUBAI. KENYANS SHOULD GET BACK THEIR MO EY FROM POLITITIANS FIRST. THEY SHOULD BE CHARGED AND THE LOOT RETURNED. THE BOOKLET OF SHAME SHOULD BE THE JET TROTTING KENYAN POLITITIANS PAYING LANDRATES FOR THEM TO ENRICH THEMSELVE S NI KUNYANYASA. KENYANS DEMAND ACCOUNTABOLITY BEFORE TAXATIONS

This guy is doing the governments bidding. Why must you force people to pay land rates when services are lacking?
thanks for this discussion. I have an issue with the county over irregular penalties against my parcels of land, even though i have never defaulted at all. No one is ready to fix this at the county offices. The anomaly has tagged me for the last 3 years.
The soup is turning again to fertilizers, because of stones
He has confused land rates with land rent.
Land rent is collected by national government [ardhi house] only on lease hold land.
Land rates are collected by county governments on both lease hold and freehold land in urban areas.
That's sakaja for you
We have always paid both land rates and land rent (For Leasehold Property) to County Government of Nairobi not aware of the changes ...pls enlighten us
@@timtimc2012 I doubt it. Land rates are paid to county govts, while land rents are paid to the national govt. And I don't think Kerich has said anything different from this. He is anchoring his points on land RATES which are correctly paid to county govts.
Can someone please advise how those of us in the diaspora get the list of those with unpaid rates? PLEASE HELP

landowners in Nairobi have been paying land rates for decades with no services. Poor road infrastructure, no security, no water, so why pay land rates/What about accountability and refunding those who pay land rates and don't get the service delivery? This is just another way to siphon money from hard working land owners.
Am still waiting for them to value the Nyayo Embakasi houses so that I can pay the rates.
Why not make more people pay and then reduce the rates???
I do not agree with reviewing the water Act.
We own nothing
