One of the greatest series that I've watched in 90s. Thanks Home Improvement.
Me too because that show really the descent virtue of Family Values which is very truly well known for teaching lessons!
They should bring it back with Brad taking over Tool Time and getting married to Heidi. Tim Taylor buys a house next door to Brad's and becomes extremely wise in his old age and becomes the new Wilson Wilson.
One of my funniest memories of Home Improvement was in 2000, sitting in a bar in California and seeing the Al Borland character in an advert for power tools... :)
Ah I remember this show, watched it ALL the time. It's funny because this show was on non-stop, on nearly every channel and it just seemed like one of those shows that would never go away...but alas, it's gone...along with all of the other classics.
Tim's rivalry with Bob Vila was so funny
"What the biggest fans never knew" Literally goes on to list every single well known fact LOL
It's been a while since you guys got a full video that was done well. Good job.
Omg this is so freakin nostalgic. I’m happy that I grew up in the 90’s. I think I’ll have to watch all of this show again!
Back in the days where comedy was real comedy.
I freakin love Patricia Richardson. I was a kid when this was on and my mother always had to comment, the snob she is, how she wasn't pretty and she was cheap, i.e. common. I didn't like this. I think she's very pretty, she looks like she'd make a great mom, she's a classy woman. And a great actress.
I agree. She reminds me so much of my mom. And my dad definitely has a sense of humor like Tim’s. He’s less of an idiot tho 😂
Actually Patricia Richardson said she'd only do a season 9 if she was paid as much per episode as Tim Allen was. Tim thought if doing another season was just going to just be about the money then he didn't want to bother. Patricia Richardson also wanted creative input and have her character's marriage to Tim have problems, not exactly the stuff of comedy. So Tim Allen walked away and the show ended. This video also doesn't mention the behind-the-scenes problems. After the show became a big hit in the first season, the management for the 3 child actors wanted to renegotiate their contracts and the producers considered recasting all three of them. Richard Karn gave an interview once in which he said that the producers were not nice to the three kids (perhaps out of resentment) and that this is one of the reasons that JTT walked away from the show because he was tired of the way the producers had treated him so he just left the show and didn't renew his contract. Some people also didn't care for the way Home Improvement changed in the later seasons, such as a story line where Tim's brother got divorced and they even did "a very special episode" where JTT's character was thought to have leukemia, but the test finally came back negative. Not a lot of fun there. Some refer to the early seasons as "the early funny ones." A review in Entertainment Weekly late in the series run was by a writer who hadn't watch the show in a few years and was startled by how different it had become. They even killed off Jill's father and Al's mother in later episodes! They might have also mentioned that the show helped sell in syndication by not broadcasting one episode and making it available only in the syndication package (the one that took place at the 29 Palms Marine Base where Tim goes out of control in a tank and drives over things).
Tim Allan was the star and carried the show pretty much single-handed. Everybody else played supporting characters, so of course Allan made the most money. Richardson wanting equal pay was silly.
What the hell are you guys talking about? Home improvement has 9 seasons, not 8.
One of my favorite shows to watch! Also I have a crush on Patricia Richardson 😘🔥....
MOOOOORE POWWWER
Splitz z lol I remembered that episode when tim re wired Jill's dildo!!!!
Danke Tim und Gill , ihr habt großes geleistet. Eure Serie war gefühlvoll, witzig und der Charme dieser Serie war nachhaltig, bis heute.
I like how the shows and movies are always "one of the most popular" and such
Me: I LOVE The Backyardigans!!!
My sister: I LOVE Home Improvement!!!
My favourite show from my childhood!!!
"Oh oh!" "Not a word you wanna hear in this house." So true :D
Home Improvement one of my favorite shows growing up.
Kinda funny to see the emmy awards stage looking like the devils horns and flames coming from the back. Makes you think what forces the hollywood is playing with.
I'm not sure about Home Improvements but Tool Time is one of the best shows of all time.
Uh, excuse me, but "Tool Time" was like sub-text to "Home Improvement".
I liked that show
I still watch my home imp boxset twice a year without fail. Same as my columbo, a touch of frost, eerie indiana, are you afraid of the dark, only fools and horses, the sopranos and harry potter movies lol
Patricia Richardson also appeared on Last Man Standing as cranky and cantankerous neighbor Helen. Home Improvement references abounded here too, and the character was even introduced doing some renovations to her house. Regular neighbor Chuck Larabee did a Wilson stand-in as well.
Always have good feelings when I hear back stories about this show. They must have done something good.
One of my all time favorites.
I'd like to see something about My Favorite Martian.
Netflix should pick this show up. I would love to add it to my list and never get around to watching it. Then hate myself when it gets removed.
I'm not a 90s kid but this was apart of my childhood
UUUEEGGHH?!?! -Tim Allen
I have asked this question elsewhere, As programs are cancelled, how many episodes that were never "aired" that are still in the can ?
I’m a HUGE fan of this show and I knew all of this stuff!
If I didn't already know what movies he's played in, I wouldn't have understood what titles the narrator was trying to say, through his thick accent
damn, denied becasue you were too good!
wow, how often does that happen?
That was a good show
Lol I'm watching home improvement right now on laff network
I like this show but I'm only watching this to see if you mention that Johnathan Taylor Thomas is actually a month older than Zachary Ty Bryan, witch I found through IMDB over a decade ago by the way.
You should see the video about Dave and Tim.. and his pov regarding Tim.
I wish every game manual was like that.
I miss watching Home Improvement. I never got into Last Man Standing, but only because I rarely watch TV. Still, I saw a few episodes and thought they were funny.
I agree with you all. I couldn't ever get into Last Man Standing. The characters aren't likable. However, I love(d) Home Improvement!
I am young for this show and watched it. Such a great feel good show.
I loved Home Improvement. My Father thought Tim was an idiot though.
One of the best shows ever made!!!!
One of the best shows! If one person in that cast was somebody else, it wouldn't have been as good as it was. Its still on Dish twice a day in mini marathons. Channel 188 M-F from 11am-3pm and 8-11pm and ch 166 from 2pm-5pm. Then 3-11pm on 188 on Sundays. Hafta admit, I still watch most of 'em.
Fantastic show! By far, better than today’s TV comedies. Extremely creative, great scripts. And really funny -without the trash. Hey! Now there’s a statement! 😏
I love this show. I have the complete series on DVD and still laugh. The 90's gave us some great shows, Home Improvement, Seinfeld, Roseanne, Grace Under Fire, Friends, Fresh Prince.....Just to name a few
Erock The 90s had lots of shows start which are still loved by many people, lots of cartoons from back then were amazing.
It really is sad how shows of today are not as funny as those in the 90's.
This is one of the shows my family watched together as a family before they divorced. There is no way in hell, any of these characters could have been played by anyone else. Imagine another Wilson? Another AL? Another Jill? Sometimes destiny is meant to be...
Creeeeeeepy how did y'all kmow I've been watching Home Improvement on hulu. Wonderful great show they just dont make them like they use too!!
Addition to the Dave Chappelle/Jim Brewer bit that I'm surprised was left out - those two buddies went on to star together in the hilarious stoner movie, Half-Baked...heh, puff...remember that one, man...?
I want that game.
Need a big grunt to keep me going every now and then
I want that video game
JTT did not need to make a appearance in the finale as his character said his goodbyes in the final season Christmas episode.
absolutely nothing any fan wouldn't already know
I knew all these, who didn't
I wish they would bring it back on my cable network like they do with crappy shows like MASH, Friends and The Big Bang Theory. They play them 3 and 4 times a night, (during prime-time) every night but no Home Improvement.
Holy crap that's a ton of money left behind
I love this show 😘😘😘
one of my fave shows of all time ive even watched it almost every ep its repeated on tv here in new zealand and they have been playing reruns of the show for years its on evey day but weekends
So no information on the guy who played the neighbour?
I remember that it was on the news when he passed away years ago. I believe it was after the show ended.
Holy shit, 25 and 50 million for 1 season and they said no Oo wow
Tim Allen my guy
Saved by the bell
biggest fans knew all this... :-P
i had a crush on Zac :P
Good show hahah
I want to play the SNES game
For those of us who grew up on home improvement gonna start eating healthy and excersing 😭😱😨😖
I loved this show
If this mud fight does happen will it go until you jill or hidey is tired or wor out in the mud pit
You have to respect someone that walks away from money for creative reasons.
TIm Allen, always the best. Clean and family comedy with no bad words. They don't make them like that anymore.
That happened probably before you where even born. So? Do you have a point? Grow up will ya? People make stupid mistakes, sometimes very big ones. Lording it over decades later to refute something that isn't even in correlation with the point that you refuted is just stupid. What does that have to do with "clean and family comedy with no bad words" many years later?
gerble36. dude was trying to make him out to b a lil angel...that's the point....guessing u love ya some TIM TIME huh?
MrCain667 the shows he does are clean family comedy. What he did in his private life before he became famous has nothing to do with that comment.
Alway loved Tim. Saw him perform in Eugene Oregon. Great show. Always Broadcasting Crap. Really messed up canceling new show over political reasons. Theses channels and actors need to leave the politics behind and just entertain like they are paid to do.
Home improvement was/Is the absolute BEST thing Tim Allen ever created and brought together 1 of the best cast E.V.E.R!(With the exception of jjt)
🔥🔥 HOME IMPROVEMENT FOREVERMORE!! 🔥🔥
According to Patricia Richardson, the show ended because she wanted the same as Tim Allen. And between all the negotiations, Tim Allen didn't like the fighting over money
TimAllen&Patricia Richardaon are my two favourite actors
I love that show.
Wow who to think
I'm glad they ended the show when they did, because it is still looked at fondly. Where as the Simpsons it is just, ugh.
J B even Seinfeld, but The Simpsons was at bit stale in 1998 and it was going downhill
What! No mention that he is a HAM!
How you gonna have a video named that and NOT mention Tim Allen getting arrested for cocaine possession?
What a GREAAT show
One of the funniest family show EVER !
Half Baked got started on Home Improvement?? And why would Tim Allen question JTT like that?? A lot of young kids at that age wanna do a little bit of everything, like the kid who leaves his boring town for the city just for a change or pace, or the kid who travels the world. It's at that age that they do most of that..
You're right, but as they age a lot of people forget how they felt and acted when they were younger. I'm guessing Tim Allen was looking for consistent adult behavior from a teenager, and that just isn't going to happen.
I remember reading something that it wasn't Allan that wanted the show to end Richardson decided she didn't want to do it anymore ABC even said that was fine that it could go on without her but he said if she wasn't gonna do it he wasn't. And like a year later he regretted not taking the offer and staying on a few more years.
Interesting that he did Home Improvement for 8 seasons, and ABC was desperate for a 9th... only to bring him back a few years later with Last Man Standing (a very similar show). Only to be canceled 5 years later and replaced by a show that could not get his ratings. Now he is going to Fox to do Last Man Standing for them.
It appears according t this explanation Tim Allen wanted to go out on top, and when the ratings dropped slightly during season 8 he called it to an end.
Does anybody realize that Tim Allen looks like Chuck Norris? It's true, they do.
You can find re runs on Laff TV after they took down Roseanne.
I remember hearing a rumor about tim alans tv show son that he committed suicide because he was a closet homosexual and couldnt deal with the dual life. I'm glad that was just a rumor. Did anyone else hear this rumor growing up?
I might be wrong but Wasn't it the son from everybody loves raymond who commited suicide?
It was a really good show but I'm glad it ended when it did, because family shows almost always turn bad in later seasons as they desperately try to find storylines with the kids getting older.
The line "real men don't need instructions" is dumbest advice you could give someone. It's no wonder Tim was always breaking something.
I watch home improvement on re runs every night
If you got the most attention, you have to go. So it is every time... but I'm sorry about, that the "Randy" don't be there... very sad.
What? Nothing about Tim Allen going to prison for cocaine abuse?
Home Improvement was much funnier than Last Man Standing, IMO... Tim Allen's character itself, from one show to the next, was much less funny the second time around (also, "Outdoor Man" as secondary plotline was no match for "Tool Time")
Tool Time !
Heidi was hot😍😍
How do you say no to $50m to pretend to be someone else?
Because they had plenty of money already and doing what was best for the viewers came first. Patricia Richardson wanted more money and creative input to the show which could have potentially ruined it. The ratings were already dropping. They withdrew while the show was good before it became hated.
What other '90s shows should we feature next?
Just throwing these out there: Dinosaurs, Married with Children, Perfect Strangers, Boy Meets World, The Wonder Years, Saved by the Bell, Step-by-Step, Family Matters, All That and/or Beyond Belief (Fact of Fiction) please.
Third rock from the son
PERFECT STRANGERS
Dave H yeah I forgot about the Solomons
Looper Please do 1 about Perfect Strangers and 1 about The Wonder years. 😎👍📺🇺🇸🇦🇺
