Ohhhhh! This was great to see this way! I just started loom knitting recently and have done hats, scarves and cowls. I like to sit with the round loom on my lap oriented kind of like a steering wheel - up and down, not flat - so most videos that show the loom sitting flat on a table don't make immediate sense to me. I realized that when I purl, I am doing it upside down because it was a more natural motion for me - putting the working yarn ABOVE the yarn already on the peg, then scooping the lower piece from below, going over the top of the working yarn, pulling the working yarn DOWN through the lower piece, then lifting off. I couldn't figure out if it mattered, so found some pictures of the difference. (Answer: no, it doesn't REALLY matter, but finished pieces will look slightly different). I kept trying to "correct" my method for purling but it was so awkward and I kept dropping my hook. Just flipping the loom upside down like you have yours fixed the problem. THANK YOU!
How the hell are you supposed to do it quickly? It's incredibly unwieldy. I thought the whole point of loom knitting was that it was fast. If you have to stop and use your fingers to do half of it, what's the point? I wish you had demonstrated how it looks when you get the hang of it and do it quickly, if that is even possible.
Some like me use looms because using needles can be very difficult. Looms are still very quick and you wouldn’t purl the entire project, most likely a mix of knit and purl.

This is the best video showing how to purl. I finally am able to do this. Thanks so much.
great video, im a beginner and would love more videos,
I locked the orientation on my iPad and held it upside down so I could understand what was being done!
me I am left handed so does it end up the same as going right?
why upside down??
Thank you.

Or I can't do that you're holding it upside down
