I'm on boost, and live in a regional area where the "full" network access does make a real difference. It used to be that Boost was significantly cheaper than having an account directly with Telstra, but recently their prices have crept up to the point where there is little difference in cost anymore, unless you're a really heavy data user. So, it doesn't make much difference to me, but the lack of real competition is a concern, as Telstra do have regional Australia in a choke hold, and that can't be good.
As in the other comments, I also fear the lack of competition and price increase (this is very likely). I wont be surprised if they abandon 12 month plan, and I will surely leave once it happens.
3:02 I hope that boost stays prepaid and maybe gains a few features. In my hope list l hope that boost prepaid stays full telstra network. And they dont switch it to parts access. I hope that boost get unlimited data after you use all the data access. And that its stays prepaid. If my memory serves me correctly. Boost network has always had full access to telstra but has been restricted speed wise. - Tariq
My main concern is that I have both a pre-paid starter kit (to use in 2025) and a recharge voucher (to use in 2026). These are $230 recharges to avoid the recent price hike to $300. Will they both still work?
@@sween64 Check their T&Cs carefully - that should provide some clarity. Generally though these things tend to be honoured because the value of your money (plus interest) is usually more than the trouble (and contravening consumer law, etc) is worth.
Telstra have owned the services since 2012 so when you reach out to support it’s actually Telstra prepaid that responds Going to be interesting with Vodafone teaming up with Optus next year and already picking up all of Optus regional coverage
If they start changing it to monthly plans i will gone and i won't be coming back the prices are always going up so it doesn't matter anymore but monthly plans haha i hate that type of stuff prepaid is easier and cheaper for me not being forced to pay for less data at $70 per month
Telstra gaining more market dominance and now fully owning the ENTIRE NETWORK share of "100% Telstra network" customers is a bad thing. Probably going to move away from Boost after this recharge expires!

Telstra as I know has been a Telstra subsidiary since a long time
