Im in love with this Santa Defender! It offends the soccer mom style of other SUVs. I can't wait for the hybrid version. That's the one im interested in.
I was today years old when I stumbled on this channel. FINALLY, a youtuber that covers the topic Ive been wanting to know about, DO IT SLAP DOE? lol! Subbed 4 life bro!
I got the Santa Fe Hybrid limited with the 12 speaker Bose, I am very satisfied with the sound it seems like it is about the same as the Bose on the Mazda CX-5 I test drove. The only ones that were better that I test drive was the 17 speaker Lexicon on the Genisis GV-70 which costs about 70K and the 3D 18 speaker system in the Acura MDX which is an older design car that goes for 55+K, I can't fit in the Lexus NX so I did not test that one.
I was surprised to hear you say that the centerpoint setting did not sound good in the vehicle. Listening here on headphones it actually sounded richer to me when you switched it over. This is the exact vehicle I'm getting so I'll be paying attention to that when I hit the road.
It's tough with stock audio, because as a GenX we had trunks filled with subs and high end alpine or kicker components in shitty cars in the mid 90's to mid 00's.. today they have gotten better at giving you a good sounding stock radio, but.. It's gotta be hard to review these stock radios when the after market is still so much better..😂
I have been waiting for this review. Just bought one three weeks ago. I checked your page prior to choosing between two vehicles but you hadn’t done the review at that time. I decided to by this. One of the things I found weird is the track selection button. To go to the next track you have to shift the dial down or toward you instead of away from you. Seemed counterintuitive.
3 weeks in with Calligraphy, and I agree with a B+ sound system rating. It is balanced and clear, but could use just a little more power in the mid bass. You can max out the volume without the distortion, but it's not powerful in the way it affects you physically. Maybe if they had a subwoofer up front?
Just purchased a Santa Fe with the same system, I have a 10" JLAudio Sub with a JL Audio Next RD 900/5 AMP and was thinking of adding it to the system. Your thoughts. Thank You
the Hyundai genesis 4.6 sedan is the only sedan that I come to love the audio, I can easily tune it to my Hifiman Susvara, tight bass, clear mids and highs...
Have you considered testing to see how well the infotainment system handles switching between 2 phones connected simultaneously ? That scenario had been iffy on my ioniq 5 lease (2023), won't play anytime at times & Cuts off the first 1+ seconds of Google naps navigation prompts (just Bluetooth, not Android auto)
Can't wait to see your review of the Mark Levinson, I think it will be a Mark Levinson system, in the new Lexus GX! I am considering buying a previous gen GX. But if the new one has a better audio system, I might wait and get that one instead!
@@rustbeltrobclassic2512 Damn man, that sucks. Hopefully the newer ones are better, still trying to save up a down payment for one! Love Lexus, currently driving a 2013 Lexus ES300h. 35MPG 185k miles, beautiful car. Only bad thing, no Mark Levinson :(
@@flamegaming760 Oh i loved my es330, was still baby quiet when i let it go to the next owner, but my 18 GX was trash, i drove the new one, was interested in it, but everything in it felt cheap, the material weren't as good as my older gx and no where near as good as my es. The new GX also has a massive engine recall and a buy back on some of the early ones. the engines are letting go due to a bad casting leaving debris in the engine causing the bottom end to eat bearings, the new gx and the tundra are having huge engine recalls due to it.. I dunno if i would buy another toyota product.. After dealing with Lexus corporate, imo not a company that stands behind the product. I had so many issues with mine, i ended up dumping it at 58k miles because it was borderline dangerous to drive.. so bad that my wife told me to get a new car after she drove it.. ended up buying a calligraphy hybrid santa fe.. was never a badge hog, just wanted a quiet comfortable ride with a good stereo and nice materials. Never in my life thought the company that gave us the Excel in the 80's would give us this beautifully built vehicle.. Good luck with your new GX.. maybe just lease it??
When I first set up Android Auto, it went wireless. Now when I connect the cable it doesn't source the audio from the cable. Anyone know how to force wired connection?
As much as I appreciate your video it would be nice if you would bring the camera close to show what you’re doing on the screen. That’s what I’m trying to visually see to help me out .
Probably not any time soon; I reached out to Tesla PR for a refreshed Model 3, and they said they didn't want to accommodate, so I assume CT would be out of the question. But if a SoCal subscriber wants to give me some time in one, I could evaluate.
My friend has the newer Sonata and the Bose is one of the best I've heard it has crisp mids and highs and strong tight bass! Also the newer Accords test drove one sounded really good too
center point, basically utilizes the center channel without offsetting anything, it ideally if you sit in the center, however nobody is sitting in the center, if you use this feature for a long duration you will get fatigued on your right ear because the center and right channel both on your right New cars address that like Hyundai center point off and with kia Meridian custom the center channel for each seat is right in front of each passenger this way no fatigue for all passengers.
@@DailyMotorSound Speaking of expensive, when I orderd my 2023 Bolt EV, I went with the 1LT with a couple option packages. I like mine so much and with the great deals on the remaining Bolts, I just closed the deal on another new 2023 Bolt EV with the 2LT trim, Bose package and adaptvie cruise in black. Will be selling my 1LT to CarMax next week after I pick up the new one. Now I need to remove my great Soumatrix speakers before dropping of to CarMax.
Hyundais historically have been a decent deal 3 years old. Though not sure now as the used car market has been a mess. And newer hyundai SUVs are much more popular, so depreciation may not be as nice as 6 years ago.

Not bad at all, the new Santa Fe is on my short list for a new car. The vehicle looks cool also!

Just the video I was looking for, thanks for sharing!
Wow, much better than the previous gen Santa Fe thats for sure!
I got a calligraphy a week ago, and I adjusted my fader a couple notches to the rear and seemed to help fill it out the sound better.

Hahaha I totally agree. I've made that mistake multiple times in Hyundais
turning on the Bose center point made my audio much better. Personal opinion.
I have a 22 Calligraphy Palisade and this system sounds balanced and overall better than it's bigger brother
Agreed, hope this means Hyundai will be improving audio across the board

would u do sonata bose 12 speaker system or would they be p much the same quality?
Hi. Thankyou for video. I got Hybrid, but it is without bose. May be you know. Can i install Bose on it? Or may be only woofer from it?
Is there an rca out on the stock infotainment unit such that you can add an external power amplifier to the system?
the Hyundai genesis 4.6 sedan is the only sedan that I come to love the audio, I can easily tune it to my Hifiman Susvara, tight bass, clear mids and highs...
Is that the beige interior option on the calligraphy only?
Interesting. 👍
The Genesis gv60 you gave a A / A+.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 you gave a B.
Right, I would say the GV60 is a more premium product.
good job bro 👌🙌

Good to know, I can try that when we get the Santa Fe at home.
You mentioned 5.1 performance. Is that correct?

I'd be blown away if the newer system sounds better. Newest MLs have been letdowns, and the old GX was top tier.

Is it mazda like bose or better?
Mazda's Bose systems are superior to Hyundai's. Or, at least that's what I've been told.
Mazda's Bose systems are on upper tier than Hyundai. I have tested them both and went with Mazda

Why are all the tested music genres so bad. Hardly anyone listens to that crap. Just play pop, classic rock, country, jazz or r&b.
51 grand? No thanks. That thing is ugly and way too expensive in my opinion. But then, all cars are getting way too expensive.
Yeah, inflation is real. A modestly speced Santa Fe is a better deal.
