I think the hook on the end may also be for de-hooking toothy critters by placing in the bend of hook and flip hook upside down.

I won your Gerber contest last year, absolutely love their stuff. I saw they released new versions of the Armbar, another great multi-tool.
Hope all is well Alvin, if you bring back Q&A’s would love your thoughts on fishing for bass on beds. I see/hear a lot of conventional guys target beds, but I’d rather not.

as for pliers this things are total trash, too much pressure and the jaws over lap each other and become stuck buuuuuuuuut i love these things. the little groove at the end which was intended for cinching down knots but it makes and awesome quick release. anyone who fishes steelhead rainbows or salmon has probably used a quick release tool but these things rock. u can clamp them anywhere like hemos and deploy them quick, release the fish, and stow them back quickly. i know gerber did not mean them for this purpose here but they have made an unintended gem. also they cut decent too lol

I use a pair of pliers that are offset so your hand is off to the side when you're trying to see the hook to get a good angle to extract it. These look offset. Are they? P.S. Love your videos.

Bought a linedriver and it came with a stripped out screw and threads on one side of the line cutter..
Gerber estimates a 1 month response time for warranty...
I'd just return the linedriver before the 30 day return period ends but it was purchased 2 hours away 😅
