Portugal 1-1 England (1975) ECQ

England's hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals of Euro 76 are dealt a blow in the final qualifying game away to Portugal in November 1975. Going into the game England are neck and neck with Czechoslovakia, who have a home game against struggling Cyprus to come, meaning Don Revie's side realistically need to win by a good score in Lisbon. However, they are fortunate to earn a draw as Portugal squander several good chances. A superb free-kick from Rodrigues gives Portugal the lead, before Mick Channon equalises following another free-kick. Czechoslovakia go on to qualify and then end up as competition winners.
