  • The Redcat Racing Everest Gen7 Pro, 1/10 Scale RTR Scale Rock Crawler is changing the way people buy RC crawlers. Out of the box, the Gen7 Pro comes standard with features, you’d expect to be optional, for a value that is, until now, unheard of in the scale crawler market. This exciting truck is well equipped from the factory, but every trail truck driver reaches a point where they want to customize their RC or push it to its limits. That’s when you can turn to a wide assortment of Redcat Racing option parts to upgrade the Everest Gen7 and Gen7 Pro. In this video, we focus on installing the Aluminum High Clearance Steering Knuckle Kit (180090S). This option part replaces the stock plastic knuckles and links on the Gen7. We’ll show you what tools you need and what parts need to be removed to access the original parts. Then we illustrate how to properly install the new machined aluminum knuckles and links. Never worked on an RC vehicle before? No problem, Redcat University will teach you everything you need to know.

Thanks Redcat for still evolving the Gen7....I know she's not as good as the Gen8 but with all the updates and still running NO portal axels, she's still my favourite. ..hard as nails she is....awesome updated and thanks for sharing. ..Go Gen7

Had to do this upgrade about 4 hours into owning my gen7. The plastic ones don’t hold up to much abuse. Love my gen7, if you’re thinking about getting one figure the cost of this upgrade into the price because you will be doing it, like it or not.

I will get some of these. This will raise height correct? Will it help frame rail clearance above steering linkage? My rail hits linkage

I think the Gen7 HIGHLY UNDERATED. For the price, great platform as is. Simple and upgrades are available for it, and great low cost canidate to adapt and modify without stressing about the cost of the original vechicle. I would get creative and do things to a Gen7 that I would not try on a Cross or Axial. I hope Redcat keeps the Gen7 available for a good while yet.
It's a good analogy to the real Willy's Jeep. Simple, inexpensive to buy and maintain, and infinitely adaptable. Funny how the Gen7 is quietly getting a bigger following. Alot of brick and mortar hobby shops will not touch Redcat because their spare parts distribution. WRONG!!
REDCAT is saving money for themselves and the shops on models like this.
If you want OEM parts, great, order from Redcat. But there is plenty of after market out there with little effort that will adapt to the Gen7. It's a brilliant model.
Their two new speed car rollers are brilliant too.

I love mine. My only complaint is the long lower links being on the outside and parallel with the chassis rails causes a lot of axle steer when one side fully compresses. Im looking into one of the link relocating skids. Looking to find one I don't also have to by new rod ends and pivot balls for. I don't want revo rod ends.

I know I'm asking for wrong car info on this vlog. But I have the shockwave. Bone stock. What glow plugs should I use. Will N4 work

Technically speaking you can use any glow plug that is the correct size. As for the levels/temp differences in the glow plugs - those will vary between the level of tune you want and the environment you are driving in. Hot glow plugs are usually used in cold environments - and cold glow plugs in hot environments. The temp elements help the engine deal with counter temp weather.

Thanks for the respond. I'm new to nitro cars. I'm buying a used one. Only one tank ran thou it. I've been watching your how to vids. So hope no damage is done. He didn't do the proper break in. But I'm gonna when my parts show up. Waiting on the air filter and after run oil. I'm in Oregon it's lil hot right now just cuz of summer but not near as hot as other places. Absolutely thanks for the how to vids. This is like my 5th redcat car just my first nirto.

The servo link is a female thread on each end but my stock one is a male screw on each end. Any suggestions?

Just got my daughter 7 years old her first redcat the gen 7 . She loves it we've had traxxas erevo and the udr .... good speed and what not but durability is where traxxas is lacking these days for the amount I dumped into traxxas for two cars over 1200 I could have bought a fleet of redcats . She already flipped it down a 20 ft rocky slope and a few body scratches but its running normal. Needless to say I'm selling my udr and erevo getting parts for them isn't worth waiting a month every time. Boycott traxxas people go with redcat .

However that with this mod the tires crawl on the springs of the shock absorbers, when they are compressed.

Adjust your swing and control arms to fix the angle so it swings your diff up a little bit and change the hole your top of the shocks are in it will help alot my daughters only rubs when the tire is fully compress along with the shock even then its just the tip of the tread . Also you can twist and heat the springs so they have a smaller diameter but still fit the shock I did it with the stock ones then I found a site that sells skinny shock springs

I need those screws 1:23 any help?

    • @RedcatracingAZ

If you are talking about the screw in the axle housing on the C-hub mount - that is just a 3*10mm button head screw.

    • @RedcatracingAZ
      @RedcatracingAZ  4 роки тому

The Gen7 manual should show some exploded views which point this screw out and identify its part #.

Redcat Racing thanks! I just place the order for m3*10 screw as show in the manual

Вы издеваетесь? Модель старая уже, никому не интересная. GEN 8 на сегодня, а на завтра уже новая разработка нужна, GEN 9!

Peopel still love the "oldies" and so do people still love the Gen7 - so we still make some helpful "how to" videos for them! And in the future - all Redcat models!
