Enjoyed the Star Wars talk at the end. I totally agree with Will on how Disney has changed the franchise. I could go on and on what my take is on how things have changed, but that could go on forever haha... Another great episode guys. Really enjoy them.
I think it'd make an interesting group to be entirely made of bards, each with a different focus and further specialized with feats. Lorebard as primary nuker, supplemental controller. Glamour bard as healer and controller. Sword bard as striker sentinel. Whisper bard as a striker and nuker. Maybe even a valor bard as offtank and supplemental heals.
You guys forgot that, if someone, manages to break your majestic presence, they still have disvantage to hit, in all its saving throws against you, which is pretty damm strong for a short rest feature. I can help but think about the blade bard as a "Kvothe like" bard, as the flourishes can pretty much represent ketan movements. And regarding the blade flourishes as a fencer myself they are not really something unusual, actually they are can be used as a feint or as psicology thing, of course they are not flashy as hollywood moves but still... my take on this is : Defensive flourish is a intimidation move making people think twice before attacking you thats why the AC. The Mobile one is probably as in fencing movement and quick footwork is essential, a blade bard in my opinion, would 9/10 times be an amazing dancer, which also involves great footwork, this would add to a great agility and dexterity. The slashing one is probably the worst one from a reality stand point but someone sliding and making a spin move to hit two people is not that strange in my opinion. The College of whispers is pretty much the bards from Dragon Age, where they are basicaly spies and assassin for the nobles, i can totally see them working eighter for a noble or for a shady organization, they can even be used as a secret organization or the evil two faced advisor. Edit: the majestic present dont actually give them disvantage to attack you but actually against saving throws from you. i misread and i apologise
Well said. The Sword bard I've been thinking up is a Tessen War fan dancer. When I read the blade flourishes I can just imagine dancing with spins and juggling the fans, gracefully opening and closing them with the moves.

Some people have recommended the College of Swords to make him more Pirate-esque, but I'd rather him focus on rocking out on an accordion or fiddle.
I have ran a Heavy Metal bard concept before. Not a pirate, but a Tiefling who sold his soul to Asmodeus for rock n roll. His instrument was a arcane powered electric guitar. I just reflavored the glamour bard to a glam rock bard. You could do something similar and just reflavor the glamour bard.

From his view she has this shining, otherworldly beauty while for everyone else she is just a normal elf. (technically half-elf) 18:22 At that point you really have to look at the definition of: "What does sport actually mean?" because to me, personally it is more than just sport games like soccer or football or contest sport like (olympic) running and swimming
Mobile flourish doesn't specify if it's a range or melee attack. Enemy is 60 ft away. Move 30, throw dagger, mobile flourish (10 ft speed boost), push target 5 to 10 feet, move all the way up to beside the target.

If you really want to pack more sword bard I to your sword bard or more battlemaster into your battlemaster, you could always multiclass them together because you can use your blade flourishes and your battle maneuvers in the same attack. Allowing you to do things like knock someone prone and push them away, then move a space all in the same attack! Of course you could always go variant human to get the battle master feat and just go straight swords bard! Doing so will also give the bard action surge meaning they could attack, use their maneuver and floruish combo, then action surge and throw a spell (which could be vicious mockery, imagine knocking the sword out of someone's hand while pushing them away in a single strike and then insulting the enemy!)
I made a mark of hospitality halfling glamour bard who was proficient in cook and brewers tools and the idea was that her beautiful music and impeccable sense of hospitality allowed her to channel fey magic and eventually summon fey to her aid via magical secrets I thought it was a great character.
Love the content guys, keep up the great work! One bard I think gets overlooked as a bard, but has great flavor, is the the character Dilios from the movie "300". If you haven't seen it, or didn't catch the parallel, give it a watch with that idea in mind. He narrates the whole thing and even has at least one scene telling epic stories to the other Spartans.
I honestly love the collage of Glamour. My first Bard that I made in 5e was in fact a glamour bard. Named Guaco Edward Moli, or short just Guac E. Moli with his alter ego being named Salsa-zar. He's kinda annoying cause he thinks he's hot shit with the ladies and what not, but I mean when you have the powers to charm people into personal fan girls, who wouldn't?
We all know the college of lore is the best musician. Between cutting words on the competition and peerless skill, glibness spell for auto 15, and expertise, that's auto 32+1d12, and -1d12 against any opponent. If anyone is elvis Presley it's the lore bard

The sword bard gets some really cool maneuvers, but the valor gets nearly all weapon and armor proficiencies, meaning you can be a valor bard in half plate and a great sword and nearly keep pace with the fighter in terms of damage, or go sword and board and have a 19 AC and be an alternate tank.
I can't wait until you guys get to the Circle of Dreams Druid. That's my favorite subclass in Xanathar's and I love when Will gets all giddy about Fey stuff. My current character is one of those and she's a half Dryad Eladrin. The UA for the Eladrin (that will probably be in Mordenkainen's tome of foes) just screams half Dryad to me. With them changing with the seasons and all.
As a level 3 bard on our first session I successfully hold pertained one of the dms creatures for 4 turns straight while our group just beat down on it. Then I switched to Tasha’s laughter for 2 turns on the other creature
Rolling stacks is bad. the Avg on a 3d6 is 9. So the odds of any stat becoming 12+ is extremely slim. Let alone getting that initial 14+ for your main stat for SAD characters. And if you roll below average, well... good luck.
Valor Bard is party support, Swords Bard is a Gish (magically augmented fighter).
