Not until this video that I understood the meaning of ''You don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your system".

Creating a system and changing my enviroment were definitely the greatest factors in improving my life and actually start doing the things that I had been putting off for 2 years... I highly recommend his book Atomic Habits!

I think it's still important to address your mindset first before setting up "new systems" . If you don't get your mind right (address limiting beliefs about yourself, paradigm shifts etc), these systems are all a band aid that will eventually render useless if you encounter a setback (inner talk goes to "what's the use, this is all pointless, I knew it wasn't going to last / work, etc). You have to get to the root of the problem (why do you have bad habits and systems in the first place!??), before you can set the foundation for new, strong/resilient systems to be built.

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.” (Atomic Habits). I also like the meditation book called 30 Days to Reduce Stress by Harper Daniels for building a mindfulness habit.

This guy is a visionary for sure. The way he condenses information on practical application of habits for improving oneself is mind-blowing. James Clear's book 'Atomic Habits' is revolutionary- although you might wonder while reading- "Well, hang on minute, why does not anyone talk about these basic things or why didn't I think differently about this rudimentary boring stuff?"

I like to think of “systems” as “programs”- so to recognize when we’re in a programming state (through sensations), and then reprogramming through sensations (embodying the sensations that come with the result we seek).

Systems are the actions we take, and the progress and feedback we get every day.
They are the ultimate factor to our results.
Systems give us feedback immediately. Goals are too far.
Systems can be adaptive to changes quickly. Goals are not.

      example:
goal -> you want to make 100k this year
system -> you scroll 2 hours a day on ig, 4 hours of netflix, 2 hrs of videogames
you aint' gonna rise close to the 100k, but fall close to your system (which in the example, it's not a very effective one)

Your goal is what you desire to achieve, your system is what you're actually doing to achieve it. Every student has a goal of getting an A grade on their exams, not everyone however has the same studying systems.

As if we, as a people, didn't have enough on our plates these days, now my employer requires that we navigate a poorly set up web page and come up with personal goals for ourselves at the workplace. Does this really help us? I think not. This is not unlike what people who live in nations under a dictatorship have to endure. To me, this nonsense is about forcing us to be obedient to our masters. I believe that this is but one step closer to forcing us all to declare that if our bosses say that 2+2=5 then we must acknowledge this, even though we know that this is not the truth.
