This one is a little different to normal. We wanted to share with you our thoughts on UA-cam, the ins and outs of going viral and our journey so far.
We also answer the question everyone REALLY wants to know - how much money can you make from going viral?
In the space of 12 months, our channel grew from 20 subscribers to over 74,000, mostly thanks to a viral video involving us singing to our wedding guests!
We'll talk you through the criteria you need to hit to start monetising your channel, copyright claims, and what it was like to go from 20,000 views to 1 million in two weeks.
We also touch upon getting approved by UA-cam, joining the partner programme and revenue sharing.

your the first people on new tube that have been so transparent and helping others get the piece of the pie if wished ! I cant believe you got hit with copyright when you changed all the words and they made more money than you from it overall . There is such a lot of work in doing you tube and you really need to know what your doing . Think this is going to be very enlightening for some ! I would love to see you guys doing a cooking video together . This lockdown has been brutal for us all everyone has been affected in some way , we got covid for xmas then my brother died on New Years eve so it was the worst Christmas we had ever had , surely we are coming to the end of all this soon and have brighter days for all soon , big hugs xxx
Another fun Sunday morning. I have no intention of ever doing a channel, but being someone who watches a lot, I've never understood how money is made on UA-cam. It all finally makes some sense. Thanks for explaining all of it. And who better to learn it all from than my fav UA-cam couple!! And Jamie, I'm glad you're feeling more comfortable in front of the camera, because being the tech guy that you are, you have a lot of good info to share.
As far as music vids go, I still think Jamie should do a lead on one, but maybe a good one right now would be "Rise Up." Here's to looking forward to next Sunday!!!
Love your channel and all of your honesty! I actually want to visit the UK now. I see some comments where people were trying to guess the company of the copyright and I know you can’t say but I would have to guess the last song because you credited the artist by saying the name.

Is it just me or Jamie looks more comfortable now? When you first started, Megan would do the talking and Jamie would just nod on the side and add a few comments. He looked shy before! 😅

I (Jamie) still feel super awkward but yes, I definitely feel more relaxed. As soon as a camera is in my face my mind goes blank 😂😂😂
We just need to get more comfortable vlogging in public, so we can bring you more casual videos about our daily life. Hopefully people would enjoy that!

U've probably thought of this, but just in case u haven't already ~ what about editing ur original wedding video (without the copyrighted minute) and re-releasing it as an update or 'special edition'? Because I know that the lyrics are so heartfelt and sincere (and u wouldn't want to leave anyone out ~) perhaps u could voice-over with the written words alone...or include the prose at the end? You're both so creative I'm sure you can do something delightful that will continue to be viral...and inspirational.
And perhaps pocketing a bit more revenue!

Copyright is a nightmare. Before retirement I worked in Media Services in a large school district and every year had to remind staff and students about copyright - print, audio, video, websites etc. It can be very very complicated.

Your video really resonated with me, when the first lockdown hit I started providing free online baby and toddlers dance and music sessions.
I tried lots of different platforms but I was so shocked at the number of Childrens songs and action rhymes that were hit with copyright claims. I wasn’t even trying to make money from them. I am a Franchise owner for a company called My Baby Can Dance Ltd.
I know you guys have a music background, if you have any advice on how to create our own childrens songs to get our classes to another level, id really love to hear from you?
I have really enjoyed your content, Rupert is adorable, I also had a baby with sever reflux 20 years ago and it was tough, really tough!
