I never really like this music as a black man. Now I'm making it my business to learn eveything about her. She's made me proud of our shared heritage. Her ablilty to bring people together thru music, there's no telling how far she and her music can bring us.

Have to say, thank you Beyonce for creating the controversy that led me to discover Rhiannon Giddens. As a part indigenous woman myself, also a musician, it is wonderful to learn this history. It seems the worst and the best of us has been hidden for so long. Imagine all the self worth never known because we looked out and saw no reflection of ourselves. The good news is this generation and generations to come will. Thank you, Rhiannon.

Love everything Rhiannon does - brilliant lady, phenom artist, person. Margaret Hoover superb as well - even when I'm quite familiar with people she interviews, eg., Rhiannon, Yo Yo Ma..I always learn something from her informed questions - contrast with the demented, loony, imbecile barbies at FOX. On a peripheral note, The Chieftains (minus the late Paddy Maloney) performed for Biden at the Ballina event. - I was delighted to find an upload on YT Rhiannon performing with The Chieftains a longtime ago. It would have been lovely if she had joined them for Biden but I assume she's not in Ireland presently.

I love this ladies' music and passion. Her contributions are huge and I've got almost all her recording. I will push back a bit though. As a retired 8th grade history teacher in North Carolina I can assure you that the 1898 Wilmington Coup is taught in NC public schools. It has been in the Standard Course of Study for at least 50 years if not longer. Granted it was originally called the "1898 Wilmington Race Riot" but we always taught how it was a coup as part of effort to end cooperation between whites and blacks in what was known as the Fusionist movement and the beginning of Jim Crow for the next 70 years. So there hasn't been a covering up of this aspect of history. I taught it for 30+ years.

She has a PBS NC show called "My Music" that interviews and performs music from a variety of artists. The last one I saw was with Charly Lowry who is Lumbee from Roberson County NC.
