Here are several revenue synergies that are sometimes generated from mergers and acquistions:
1. Increasing pricing power
--In a horizontal merger two competitors combine, which means there is less competition and the potential to raise prices
2. Combining expertise/strengths
--If Firm A is great at marketing and Firm B is great at R&D, the firms (when combined) can remedy each other's weaknesses
3. Access to new markets/sales channels
--A firm in a low-growth country could merger with a firm in a high-growth country to access a growing market
--Firm A could access Firm B's customer list, which allows Firm A to cross-sell products to Firm B's customers (now that the two firms are combined)-
