About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

WILL this suite be ready for guests in the very near future? I would think there is a waiting list from all of those who have followed this channel from Day 1/Patreons. THE attention to detail is amazing. When you watch other Chateau Renovations most of those just paint and open their doors advertising as 'LUXURY'. SORRY...look at these rooms and you will see LUXURY on the walls, ceilings, floors and for sure the furnishings. WELL DONE all!

Marie Antoinette would be at home in this suite. My favorite part are the ceilings! THAT TOTALLY sends the message..."WE truly love the history of this house and only want to put in details/furnishings that would take you back in time." Just went back and watched your first vlog. I had to laugh when Tracey and Terry were talking about how busy life was in Middlesbrough and that the pace of life and life style in France was more appealing. I have never seen people work consistently so hard as you have done. I am not sure when you will see the pace of life slow down. Until that time I am going to enjoy your renovation channel. It is the completest thing! To my mind the chandelier is more impressive than crystal. And the mirror & curtains are charming. I think when Tracy says she can't believe it's ours it's more I can't believe it's real. But it is the fruit of your labor and vision. It is going to be as though the chateau exists again at the perfect moment of her long age and that will be because of her current owners!

Don't know if you'll see this, but the curtain hold backs in the salon should be at a 45° angle. Basically instead of the acorn pointing to 12 o'clock they should be between 10 and 11 on the left and 2 and 3 on the right. That way it'll give you that sway you're going for.
I thought that but I think the metal is itself stuck at 90 degrees so they can’t change it 👍
Love that your title is about soft furnishings and you open with a toilet. It gave me a chuckle. You all should be so proud of your outstanding work and design.

What a fabulous reveal. I absolutely love the bedroom. It could easily hold its own in Versailles. Curtains are a perfect match for the wall colour and all the little gold details. The salon is warm and inviting and the wall with the hall stand was a clever solution to hide the former doorway. Looks like it has always been that way. You must all be so proud of what you have accomplished and rightfully so.

Terry and Tracy’s “arty-farty time” 😆😆😆😆💜. That’s what my late father born in 1930 called the interior design job my sister and mother did in their new condo. My sister actually has a degree in interior design AND being a farm kid also got to learn to build, fix everything around the farm with rest of us.

The 400 suite is beautiful. From the ceilings, walls, lights, floors down to the rugs. The colors complement each other. This suite looks like it was always there right from the beginning of the Chateau. It takes my breath away ❤
I like the one in front you can see the acorn details . Now for the rooms . Breath taking . I would love to see Stephanie and Philips reaction. They love this stuff and creativity .The Chateau verse has to up its game !!!!
Absolutely stunning Terry, Ash, Tracy and all the others that worked on the restoration/transformation. Everything just fits. Consider in one of the rooms to put pictures of your ancestors in old frames. I think it would be a beautiful way to honor your ancestors and a nice conversational piece for you with guests. I mean...How many of us have pictures of our great great great grandparents on our walls and yet without them, you wouldn't be where you are. Just a thought.

From outside to inside, you have made your property beautiful, I love the view up the driveway with the curved wall hugging the buildings. The bath is superb!!! it all looks so perfectly put together (and I'm only about 10 mins into the viedo). With Terry's vision and the strength and grit of those who have worked so hard to bring it to fruition, this suite will be the jewel in the crown that is La Lacelle (not sure of spelling sigh lol). Now I'll sit back and watch the magic happen.❤

WOW TERRIFIC!!!! just a thought, when I restored my house, I sanded and painted the electrical covers the same color as the walls, so they didn't distract from the beautiful room. Great Job everyone.

These are not just rooms but living, breathing beings. The sense of presence and emotion is outstanding. The pelmet in the bedroom could be made out of wood with similar trim to what is above the bathroom door. ❤

I think the curtain holders should go horizontal with the acorns going outward towards the walls not inward in front of the windows (if that makes sense). I have patio curtains with holders and that’s how mine go. It looks really good that way so that you can fluff the curtains to get volume. Good luck! 😉💙🥰🍷🙏

You already can see the rooms will be gorgeous. Loved the curtains and rugs.The sink, toilet, bathtub... ooooh, aren't they perfect??? What a feat!!! You are nothing but wonderful, all of you!
But I MUST 😕say: the only flaw, what I don't like are the old photographs. They look like old grave photographs, they make me uncomfortable, even more because they are... strangers?!??
I hoped they would look better on the walls, but... no. Maybe it's just me. I hope YOU are right, and guests won't feel the same.
Because you asked, I think the hallway tieback is more elegant than those in the sitting room. It's all in the way the curtain drapes, I think. All four rooms are looking amazing! I can only imagine Rob's grin when he sees how far it's all come from the days of his sanding all those crevices. Well done, everyone.

When you said there would be a coat rack in the blank wall space. I was in my minds eye, thinking a stand-alone coat tree. But as of today, I now see your vision. The wall mounted coat rack is a piece of classic beautiful furniture. It looks outstanding, great job, love it.

I imagine people are queueing up to stay in that suite. And each one will spend the first couple of hours of their stay gazing at every inch. "ooh, that's the bit where..." "and that's the bit where..." You have created not just a masterpiece, but a wonderland.
The attention to details and the love that has been poured into these rooms are absolutely breath taking. I love the 400 suite and this blue suite is absolutely breathtaking. I will say it kind of makes me think of in the day when dark shadows when it went from black and white to color. Absolutely breathtaking. Such a beautiful chateau. I knew that her glory was going to be splendor and breathtaking my hat's off to all of you. You have really outdone yourselves and I will continue to follow the journey.
