Personally for me its not just about the cost but safety & job prospects. I've been planning to relocate from London for 2years now and I'm struggling to decided as so much to consider.
Camera quality is crisp! 👌 Rent is really a major expensis and it’s important like you said if you have a choice to put it into consideration when planning where to live. Rent is really on the high side. Thank you so much for sharing this.
It will be very wrong to choose a city just because of cheap accommodation rates. Most of the cities with cheap accommodation rates also have low salaries and low work opportunities....so Beware!!
I never knew Blackpool is this cheap despite the tourism attractions there. I have been to Wigan, its really affordable. I'm surprised my city isn't mentioned her
Hi Tochi... Please, can you help with a review on Bolton and University of Bolton? I will really appreciate even if it's a personal DM. Thanks a whole lot.
Rent is not the only thing to consider when looking for a house, you will make more money in a city with a higher rent, high rent means high demand, and high demand is due to economic activities. Except you are a doctor or Nurse or working in the NHS, avoid the Top cheapest cities to live in the UK.
Not always true. I live in Bedford and due to Bedford's proximity to London, the rent here is really on the high side. An average 2bedroom apartment here in Bedford is 900 while a 1bed is between 700 and 899. And there are no job opportunities here. Absolutely no job opportunities except the regular healthcare and warehouse jobs. I will always advise you first live in an affordable city and then find your way to a bigger city if need be. Because if you first move to a bigger city, you're likely to spend all your income on rent alone. My friend in Bradford pays 600 pounds on a 2bed meanwhile we earn same hourly wage.
@@the_godfatherTV Fair point, however what you save in rent, you will pay with your time in long commutes and ticket fares. There are more higher paying opportunities in bigger cities is my point. The problem is not really the rent, it is getting a better paying job.
@@Neddie2k I somewhat agree with you. But remember, one of the reasons for the higher paying job in bigger cities is to compensate for the higher cost of living. At the end, you realize you're spending same 60% of your income on rent. My point is, you don't have business in big and expensive cities if you don't earn high. First start from a smaller city, then move when u land a bigger opportunity, otherwise, you're likely to spend all your income paying rent alone. Cheaper cities are also have less commute time because there are less people on the road, council tax and even insurance is lesser in cheaper/small cities too. However, bigger cities have closeness to social amenities, and are more diverse. So it all depends on exactly what the person wants. Opportunity cost, u have to forfeit somethings that are less important and then focus on what's more important. It all varies from individual to individual.

Accomodation has really being the main hindrance on why I am unable to Japa though. Why can’t one get an employer who can cover costs of settling for at least a month or two? From what I can see, those in the health care sector are damn lucky, often at times their sponsorship comes with Live in Accommodation, but it’s not the same for Tech people.
My personal preference would be Manchester, but I think Glasgow may be more affordable. But let's wait see if others can comment and provide more insight
Glasgow has more jobs in different sectors in Scotland. I'd rate Glasgow before Edinburgh and other cities in Scotland. Manchester is also a good option but you can go for the city where you have family or friends.
