Like nah you use 70 cent frozen veggies 2 packs of ramen, and seriously fry your ramen to add flavor and color. Also you can add an egg. Total cost like 1.50 for 2 servings. Plus syrup on pancakes? What you can afford bread but not flour? Like when I have money I buy flower. Biscuits and pancakes for weeks.

Our syrup sandwhiches were more like french toast. We dipped the bread in an egg and fryed it. Then stacked the slices and poured the syrup on top lol it was really good, especially if you were lucky enough to have a sliced peach or blackberries
My ex husband taught me a struggle meal when we first met that he learned from being in jail when he was younger...lol... it's Ramen cooked n seasoned like u just did but with additional ingredients...after u cook n use the seasoning for the Ramen u add in a Slim Jim that u slice up and 🧀...u know, the Slim Jim's that come with cheese in with them, anyway u slice them up n throw some hot chili powder in or hot sauce like Kalen used in the already cooked ramen on the stove top til the cheese is melted...not even joking.... it's really good....

I was in my 20s before I found out lasagna isn't supposed to be made with only noodles, canned tomato puree, thawed frozen spinach, and cottage cheese. So soggy & watery! She's got another on PB-based sandwiches including PB & mayo… ugh. And she tries everything she makes! Her facial expressions are everything. I would love to see her and Kalen together in a cooking video.
These were called “Daddy” meals in our house. Meant that Mom was out of town and Daddy had to cook! 😂 My kids loved ALL of these meals and even added Viennas to Ramen! They loved it!!

Growing up, my family was on WIC/food stamps. We had a few struggle meals, but what I remember the most is the difference in food quality. My mom bought expired or near expired bread from the bakery outlet or she’d make her own bread. We had powdered milk. We only had grape jelly. We had government cheese. It wasn’t fancy, but it fed us. Things are great now, but what’s important is that these services (WIC/Food Stamps, etc) helped my family and they are for people who need them. You’re not less of a person for needing help. When you do get on your feet, try to ensure that these programs are available for the next family.

I was in my 20s before I found out lasagna isn't supposed to be made with only noodles, canned tomato puree, thawed frozen spinach, and cottage cheese. So soggy & watery! Channels emmymadeinjapan & Life of Boris have playlists of 'hard times' or 'budget' meals. Emmy's 'Condiment Sandwich' video includes syrup, mayo, mustard, ketchup sandwiches & variants. She's got another on PB-based sandwiches including PB & mayo… ugh. And she tries everything she makes! Her facial expressions are everything. I would love to see her and Kalen together in a cooking video.
These were called “Daddy” meals in our house. Meant that Mom was out of town and Daddy had to cook! 😂 My kids loved ALL of these meals and even added Viennas to Ramen! They loved it!!

Growing up, my family was on WIC/food stamps. We had a few struggle meals, but what I remember the most is the difference in food quality. My mom bought expired or near expired bread from the bakery outlet or she’d make her own bread. We had powdered milk. We only had grape jelly. We had government cheese. It wasn’t fancy, but it fed us. Things are great now, but what’s important is that these services (WIC/Food Stamps, etc) helped my family and they are for people who need them. You’re not less of a person for needing help. When you do get on your feet, try to ensure that these programs are available for the next family.
