One of the few songs that destroys me and rebuilds me on a level that can’t be described. Tycho will never know how much their music has helped me through the hardest phases of my life. Hats off.
I live in Montana and I'm so proud that this song is dedicated to it!!! Sometimes I hop on my four wheeler and drive through the woods and along my neighborhood while listening to Tycho. I enjoy the fragrance of the outdoors, all the trees, the beautiful rivers and creeks that run rage through the forest, the creatures that roam around, the mountains, and especially Lake Blaine's beautiful scenery. This place will always have a special place in my heart and I will always think of this place when I hear this song. It really breaks my heart that soon I will have to move away from this gorgeous place due to money issues, but I will always remember it by the memories it implanted in my soul and this beautiful song.
Tuned in my stereo systems in my old ass Honda Elefant and Accord tonight with only Tycho. The 'hood was bangin.' Still just a kid here. Love my hi-fi. Yes, and my neighbors ADORE ME🤣
This song healed me out of a rolling panic attack the other day. I was having the worst attacks for 3 hours and didn't know how to get out of it. My friend came and helped me and remembered that I love Tycho and started playing this song. The second the song started I started to feel happy again and started sobbing from waves of emotion. I listened to a couple more songs from this album and kind of cried myself out of the panic attack. I will never forget the magic it did to my body. Music is truly medicine. Thank you Tycho
This is the feeling of like passing onto another life and the legacy you left was full of positivity like you legit changed the entire world and everyone around it and brought people closer together as one .
Tycho makes me so happy. This song reminds me of playing on the beach as a little kid. Boards of Canada does a good job at bringing back memories, but Tycho's music brings back these warm happy memories that BOC could not. I'm certainly a fan!
I can't get enough of these guys. This music is perfect for so many occasions. I love it especially when I am creating new artwork. So inspirational and relaxing. Good job Tycho. Thanks for being the soundtrack to most of my adult life.
How can a song make you feel simultaneously uplifted and melancholic? Jump for joy and breakdown in tears.. 4 : 38 onwards - that subtle baseline switch up gently tears my heart out.
For 5 and a half minutes, I was in a state of mind without any stress and competition at all. Whenever you feel overwhelmed with life, go sit in a couch and listen to Tycho for a while. Also, don't overdose Tycho while working with other stuff, because the healing effect weakens when you consume in the non-stressed state
very well said, mate... "stress and competition" - since many years i have to stay at home most of the time due to an illness - i use my time with cruising youtube, and i keep finding incredible music, old and new - i also read literally thousands of comments (although my friends keep saying "don´t!"), and what disturbs me in many, many of them is: this music is far better than... (fill in any famous band or musician) - the last example was a singer with a guitar and someone told me: "he delivers far better songwriting here, than bob dylan did in his whole career" - what a stupid nonsense, no? people seem to be full of competition, some actually fight fiercely about matters of taste - i feel reminded of little children who try to fight out whose mother is the most beautiful woman in the world... in my youth, when i was in the punk phase, aggressively shouting out my problems in the music, raw rock music of course, i had many reasonings with my grandmother, who was a strong, wise and humble woman - she could not understand our music and i didn´t like her music, classical music that was.... she kept asking, why we took fight and war into our music instead of keeping it out - "shouldn´t music be the one place, where we can find a little peace and a little peace of mind, at least for a short while?" (btw. i´m quite proud, that we loved and respected each other, no matter how much we disagreed in so many things) i couldn´t understand it back then, but her words kept working in me, she had planted some good seeds indeed - some years later i slowly began to understand and that was the time when i slowed down a little and began to see others, not only my little problems - the more i did that, the more humble i became and the more i left competition behind - a friendly, sportive little competition can be a good challenge, perfectly ok, but no one needs fierce fighting... for me music keeps being for enjoying and bliss, for dancing, meditating, dreaming, sharing feelings, but nor for letting others down, surely not... thank you for your nice words..... :-)
Why does this remind me of iMovie music, but also shopping in a mall during some bizarre adventure or travelling or exploring... I like it a lot. It’s nostalgic too
The first time I left home two years ago from the East to West coast, I knew I was gonna play this song. It was maybe a week into my journey and I remember first entering eastern Montana during the golden hour and I knew I had to play this song. Such a significant memory, one of adventure and uncertainty. Those notes that shine through at the very climax of the song are truly beautiful. Getting to experience this track in Montana at such a formative part of my life is something I'll never forget. Music
Listening to this song makes me feel like I'm watching one of those films where you really get connected to the characters and their journeys, but like, in less than 6 minutes.
I never thought I would be moved by a triangle. Heard this the first time and it hit me really hard, and when I watched the music video I felt a lot more things with this song. Wish it could be a little more long
This makes me feel like I’m hiking the wilderness of Montana during winter time. It has just snowed and it’s sunny the sun shines off the snow creating a nice glare and the sky is a dark blue it’s late afternoon and you just smoked a joint now you continue your winter hike.
First I had heard of Tycho was when you played Cochella. I want to express not only how beautiful your music is but would also like to state that I saw something amazing while you played.I noticed how deeply entranced your audience had become, immediately. But in a different way then they were reacting with other bands. One could see the serene pleasure upon their faces and the mellow vibration the crowd's mood had become. I would recommend this music for meditation or massage rooms. With hopes Tycho stays around for a long time. Thank you.
Absolutely one of the best. The instruments are vocal and expressive than any voice here in 2019. What an Amazing Talent. An entire song like this. Blending everything. This made instruments sound more like a human interaction than ever.
even though the title is Montana, it reminds me of Arizona. going through papago park on the highway, orangeish red and purple sky with clouds that look like strawberry cotton candy. red rocks and mountains with the occasional tall saguaro. love this song so much
almost two years on from hearing this the first time, still sends my body completely cold every time i listen to it, this the best song i'll ever hear in my life
Make someone smile! Every smile makes a difference! With every smile the smile count goes up on Earth! Come on guys and gals! Let's see those pretty chompers! Universal love, my friends! Help and watch out for one another! If someone is falling you must throw down the spring to bounce them back up! Everyone needs a helping hand every now and then. Why drown in hate when you can flourish in love!?
***** Yeah I'm not that happy, but I definitely have moments where I feel happy. It was more of a channeling of hope more than anything. The chances of knowing what's going on are slim if you aren't engorged in the news, experiencing it for yourself, or all over youtube 24/7. It was meant to affect the imagination to chain the thoughts. I was just feeling good when I typed it, so the idea was to spread that feeling as well as it will. There's no good in being sad and depressed all the time about what's happening. That's the trick. If you let it drag you down then you'll fall with it if you aren't motivated that is. My point is to stay positive and do something about it rather than to mourn all the time. You're likely calling yourself insane by saying, "no sane person should ever be happy given the circumstances the world is in and our story as a species." You're actually calling everyone that is happy, insane. You're also telling me to struggle and try to make the world a better place. Sure it won't be just smiles and happiness. I don't thing I'm going to be struggling though. You simply wrote a giant fallacy saying how it is. When I wrote something to motivate and bring people out of their sadness if at all possible. Nice try? All I did was write an encouraging message. Stress isn't worth it. It's one cause of cancer. Stay cheerful and jolly as well as you can, because you never know when it'll be stripped away from you. I'm not going to drown in a civil war of sadness. I'm not going to sit here and argue with you. We have better things to do than argue among ourselves about who's right and who's wrong.
I've heard about 2 tycho songs before in my life. Today I was in a waiting room playing some chill playlist and heard this. I knew it just sounded like tycho. Soundhound it and...bam. It's tycho. This feels surreal. I've never been able to identify the artist for unknown songs before, let alone for bands I don't really follow. Now I spent 3 hours listening in the background. You got me.
Me and my friends went on a road trip the other week. I put my earphones in and turned on a Tycho playlist, closed my eyes in Warren Arkansas, && woke up in Winter Park FL. I'm not even fucking around. ._.
It is very hard not to like this, especially as an artist! Graphic Art and Music. Perfect! Most of my art is inspired by Tycho! A Walk is my favorite but this song..I cant wait to hear more!
Tycho are an amazing dichotomy of electro and, I'd hate to say it, almost post-punk at times. I adore all of it. All in my wheelhouse, most importantly, in my playlist. Just incredibly well-imagined material.
You know, I knew a chick named Montana when I was about 7 or something. I had a pretty big crush on 'er, but I never said anything. I remember playing Pokemon with her on the Gameboy. Man, how great was the Gameboy? Anyway, I think that's as far as it got before I had to move away. Good memory, though. Thanks, Tycho.
This music has inspired a more positive attitude for me. When I take a WALK it usually lasts for HOURS on end, and as I am walking I begin to DAYDREAM. It's a great album and it sounds like you really catch a groove listening to it, as we boomers say
Listening to Tycho's music is the closest I've ever been to having a spiritual expeience.
"Montana" is a perfect title. I imagine myself laying underneath a big pine tree on a mountain in Montana, taking in the evening sun rays :)
Exactly..
Sounds like a Dream
Well.....
I thought Montana was just an empty void of darkness
sounds boring asf
My favorite instrumental song of all time. Nothing else even comes close.
iTunes Festival 2014... That was the first time I heard this beautiful track.
Perfection is an understatement
I heard this on AM radio on a college-ran station when it first came out, and I burst into tears.
This song never fails to rebuild me when I feel hopeless. It reminds me of all the good things in life.
Tuned in my stereo systems in my old ass Honda Elefant and Accord tonight with only Tycho. The 'hood was bangin.' Still just a kid here. Love my hi-fi. Yes, and my neighbors ADORE ME🤣
I think it will help me get rid of the depression that I got now ...

Way to prevail Amanda . You got this!.. ✨☀️✨🌻
Another song that's really mind blowing.
This is the feeling of like passing onto another life and the legacy you left was full of positivity like you legit changed the entire world and everyone around it and brought people closer together as one .
I didn't do that. I was an asshole, lol.
Tycho makes me so happy. This song reminds me of playing on the beach as a little kid. Boards of Canada does a good job at bringing back memories, but Tycho's music brings back these warm happy memories that BOC could not. I'm certainly a fan!
This song could melt a heart of stone and bring the dead back to life.
Wow!
Just discovered this music. Tycho. Second song in. I'm enjoying. Was told to check out Tycho after diving into Röyksopp
I can't get enough of these guys. This music is perfect for so many occasions. I love it especially when I am creating new artwork. So inspirational and relaxing. Good job Tycho. Thanks for being the soundtrack to most of my adult life.

@@Randomuser_567yes it is :)

Hot cocoa and Tycho in Northern Wisco.

I feel like I NEED to close my eyes and watch this vague movie that does not exist role in front of my close eyes.
YES YES YES, it reminds me of iMovie music too...
The Station Agent, but it's only six minutes long...
Revisiting this masterpiece.
I used to live in Bozeman and Big Sky, Montana. So this hits hard.
Just so good why I don't see this in 2014!! I love this song so much
This LP comes out on my birthday, couldn't be better!

Scott Hansen. You create the soundscapes to my life.
When that bass line comes in, accentuated by the keys, magic happens. Such a beautiful tune!
this is my memorable track filled with cool and warm evenings of 2015.
Thank you Tycho for making motivational and peaceful music. I really need this

John Scott? The MVP of the Allstar game?

The part which breaks at 3:08 is just sheer bliss. Soul cleansing music.
Scott you Changed my Life. I have to Give you thanks, Thank you for everything you've Done for us.
May I know how he changed your life (if it's not too personal)? Thanks.

Energetic like Phoenix!
Thanks Tycho!
Can't wait. if the rest of the album is this good, It'll likely be my favourite release of 2014.
Same here!
The multiple melodic lines always amaze me
I listen to this while writing papers. Soothing vibe.
+Samuel Swihart Me too! Tycho, Yppah, and Emancipator are all fantastic to write to: they really help you concentrate and relax.
Thank you so much for making this album. Every track is amazing, and I can't wait to see you guys live one day.
Tycho could you pleaseeee play this song this week in Singapore. Can't wait to watch you guys
I love the undertones in this song they are the bestt
can not wait for this album
Great listen once. After that it just kind of fades into the background of my life, never once asking me to listen again.
And yet we listen to it again and again.
you had the courage to say it. i love their previous album though; that was addictive.
Incredible...
This music has inspired a more positive attitude for me. When I take a WALK it usually lasts for HOURS on end, and as I am walking I begin to DAYDREAM. Once this takes place I DIVE right into the water, only stopping to view the immense COASTAL BREAK. This constant ASCENSION fuels my desire to know what the word MELANINE means, all the while I am floating ADRIFT thinking about my beautiful EPIGRAM that will later turn into an epic ELEGY.
I see what you did there. LOl
Wtf it just started raining outside when this song started playing.. That's how awesome this song is :D
Spent many many hours listening to Dive last year out at my cottage. Seems I'm going to be doing the same this year with Awake. So excited!
So far Awake seems to be a beautiful continuation of the Dive sound, which was easily my favorite album of 2011. Looking forward to the LP.
I thought King of Limbs was another great album of the year, but Dive still is at the top.
This song makes me happy to wake up
Tycho is still making spectacular music to the ears as always.
Zac Brown and Rory O'Connor make excellent additions to Scott's music!
I can play this
almost perfectly on my cello
You're somewhere on the California coast at sunset in the summer. There aren't many people around. You just finished something. You can take it slow for awhile, it's okay.
+JumpingInTheVoid Me right now with college
And if you haven't finished yet, it's ok to take a break.
*puffs blunt*.
Kevin well said
Kevin That will definitely be the day.
I knew it was Tycho when it played on Adult Swim! I just had to Shazam it, because I forgot the name of the song! Brings me back to great times!
