Actually Emma is quite mature in thinking based off of how well she expresses herself when she speaking her native language. There you can really see her age and maturity shine through. She just let's herself be cheerful and more comedic in public so you'd think she is childish. Maybe in actions but definitely not in thinking and mentality. In an interview a few years ago, Emma herself expressed she would be reluctant or would not date Taecyeon due to the language barrier and long distance status they would have to deal with. So on that front, I believe the two were pretty aware of just how much the language barrier and long distance would impede their relationship and were both mutually satisfied on being just friends.
Taec is so nervous as well. He had his left fist clenched all da time when GG hugged him at his waist when coming down the stairs. This reminded me in ep 7 when GG hugged him when she lose the 'Scissor, rock & paper' game at 3rd round... He had both fists clenched hard too.
