I worked while pregnant and attend grad school on Saturdays- when people ask me how I did it? And how I am still doing it after giving birth and having to return to work after 2 months and continuing Grad school. I say GOD! He gives me the strength and peace that surpasses my understanding. ( The US has the worse maternity leave; it’s so sad.) But God is good. You’re doing great mamas!

When you become a mom you inherit super powers!! I went to grad school with a toddler and pregnant and working a full time job. Cheers to all the hard working moms… even those stay at home moms because raising kids in today’s society is incredibly challenging!

I had the same experience while pregnant. Employers really don’t care if you’re pregnant especially in the medical field which is insane! They were going to give me TWO WEEKS off!! I was praying hard to find another job that would be understanding and kind. Of course God came through and I now work from home and can care for my baby boy while working. It’s a true blessing.
God is so good! I’m happy that a situation where you can enjoy being with your baby because two weeks?!! How do they even think that makes sense smh
I had to do the same when I was pregnant. I stayed in a toxic environment just to get paid maternity leave, and after the 3 months, I never went back. I took the year off with my son, and it was the best decision I made for my family. You'll never regret putting your family first. Kudos to you mama ❤❤

I got 3 months of maternity leave plus 3 extra weeks. So 3 months and 3 weeks. My husband worked nights, I worked 9-5pm. It worked out. That was 16 years ago. Now the company I work for offers 3 months and 2 weeks. You can also add vacation time or days to your maternity if you desire that. You can expense childcare up to 650 a month as long as it’s an actual provider not the grandma or auntie.

I’m so glad you talked about the system failing women. I agree 1000% and I hate this government for how they treat mothers. To this country a female dog gets more time with her puppy before it gets sold, than a mom gets maternity leave. I too worked while pregnant and I resented my job a bit because I wasn’t able to enjoy my pregnancy because of my teaching job. I was always miserable, crying, and in fight or flight mode. Teachers are underpaid, treated like shit and overworked, and no one cares if you’re pregnant. I wish I wfh and mildly envy women who do and who have the luxury of staying home with their babies. I think you’re doing a great job by staying home with your baby. Babies need their mothers and when they are left without their moms for 8+ hours, they feel as if their mom abandoned them. So I applaud you for putting your little guy first. God bless.
