  • In this episode, let’s find out the best ways to enjoy Sapporo’s Jozankei Onsen hot springs district in the winter! Take a leisurely soak in a hot spring bath while snow drifts gently down all around, then enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine. As your body relaxes, your heart will unwind as well. It is nice to see the contrast of Xuan's visit to Jozankei with the one James did.

Wow all that for one person? Super fancy. BTW in America we call abalone - a-ba-lo-ni.

I will visit this February to ski in Rusutsu. Hope to find Onsen that allows tattoos since I have quite a few.

I want to experience this too as I was planning to solo travel this year (or probably next year for my birthday) but sadly, it doesn't allow reservation for 1 person so you have to pay for two persons :(

Sorry for the late reply! The top of Mt Moiwa is a great place to see the first sunrise of the year. You can go up via cable car! It will be specially open between 5 am―10am on New Years Day

Hi, can i check with you how do you move around in public transport in Jozankei? I saw most of the resorts provide free transport to them but never indicate when they are going to bring them out... i like to visit Hōheikyō Onsen. After soaking in there, i will want to visit the public places like the bridge and the free open onsen. How do you think i can do that?

      Sorry for the late reply!
Your plan is difficult using only the free shuttle bus, but with the free shuttle bus and public transportation, I think you will have a wonderful onsen experience 😊

Hoheikyo Onsen offers a free shuttle bus from Makomanai Subway Station once a day 🚌.

And it is a bit far from Hoheikyo Onsen to Jozankei's free footbaths and beautiful bridges (such as Futami-Tsuribashi suspension bridge),so we recommend you to take a public transportation bus to Jozankei yu no machi😄(about one bus service per hour).

We also recommend taking a bus (Kappa Liner) from Jozankei area to return to central Sapporo. Reservations must be made by 5:00 p.m. the day before, so please check the following website for bus operation times and reservation form🙇‍♀️
